BHG - Developing tourism according to flower seasons is a trend that many localities across the country are successfully organizing, attracting a large number of tourists. Along with that development flow, in recent years, all levels in the province have organized many tourism events and festivals associated with flowers, initially positioning the province's own tourism brand.
Being a land with special terrain, natural conditions, soil, and many different micro-climates, creating favorable conditions for the development of diverse natural ecosystems and suitable for many types of flowers. Grasping the trend of tourists who always want to admire and take beautiful pictures with flowers, many localities in the province have invested and encouraged people to grow and care for flowers to serve tourism development. Flower tourism seasons create diverse and rich tourism products and many choices for tourists, overcoming the limitations of seasonal tourism in many localities.

One of the unique flower festivals that creates the Ha Giang tourism brand is the Buckwheat Flower Festival. This small, tiny, pink herbaceous flower not only has a strong vitality in the Stone Plateau with harsh weather but also has a magical attraction for tourists. After 9 successful organizations, with careful preparation and many exciting, attractive, and unique sideline activities, the Buckwheat Flower Festival has become a "red address" on the flower tourism map of the whole country. In 2023, 4 districts in the Stone Plateau planted over 410 hectares of Buckwheat to serve the festival. Flowers are planted in convenient locations for tourists to visit and take photos such as: Heaven's Gate stop, Thach Son Than (Quan Ba); on both sides of the roads of Pho Cao, Sung La, Lung Cu communes (Dong Van); Mong ethnic community cultural tourism village, Pa Vi Ha village, Pa Vi commune (Meo Vac). Within the framework of the festival, there are many unique and attractive activities such as: Ha Giang Shan Tuyet Tea Competition; space for displaying OCOP products, typical products of the Northeast region; hot air balloon flying; International Marathon "Running on the Road of Happiness"; "Stone Spirit" adventure car and motorbike racing; boating on Nho Que River; linen weaving; Mong flute making; ethnic sports competitions; enjoying traditional local cuisine. In particular, the festival attracted more than 58,000 tourists to the province, including nearly 3,500 international visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching 137 billion VND.
Spring in the highlands of Ha Giang is perhaps one of the most beautiful seasons of the year because of the blooming and brilliant colors of peach blossoms, pear blossoms, and plum blossoms. Ms. Ho Ai My, a tourist from Dong Nai shared: "The first time I came to Ha Giang, I felt the cold of the highlands, watched the peach blossoms and pear blossoms blooming together in the small Mong village, how beautiful and peaceful, the wonderful scenery that many other localities cannot have". Some villages on the Stone Plateau such as Pa Vi commune (Meo Vac), Lo Lo Chai, Lao Xa (Dong Van), Cao Ma Po, Nam Dam (Quan Ba) attract many tourists to visit every spring on the flower petals.

With the theme "Fragrance and color of the serrated mountain", the 2023 Wild Sunflower Festival, although organized for the first time by Phong Quang commune (Vi Xuyen), has attracted thousands of visitors. Less than 10 km from Ha Giang city, nestled at the foot of the majestic serrated mountain range, Phong Quang commune has beautiful natural scenery, large land, and a favorable climate for growing flowers, including wild sunflowers. Implementing the movement to build a model New Rural Road, Phong Quang commune has promoted and mobilized people to plant 3 km of wild sunflowers on rural roads stretching from the commune center to Lung Chau village. In November, in the cold weather, wild sunflowers bloom, showing off their brilliant yellow color at the foot of the serrated mountain, creating a beautiful natural picture, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit, take photos, introduce and promote the image of wild sunflowers on digital platforms.
Along with that, many localities in the province have organized unique flower festivals such as: Moc Mien flower festival in Meo Vac district; Do Quyen flower festival in Cao Bo commune (Vi Xuyen); Peach flower festival. Ha Giang city plans to plant Lagerstroemia flower routes to create highlights for the city; satellite communes of the city also encourage people to plant seasonal flower gardens such as: Sunflowers, mustard flowers, Sao toa flowers, chrysanthemums... to attract tourists.
The beauty of flowers has a magical attraction, however, in the context of many flower festivals being held nationwide as it is today, to develop flower season tourism into a unique and attractive tourism product, creating a distinct brand to attract tourists, localities need to be creative in the script and content of organizing festivals, planning flower development areas, paying attention to promoting, introducing images, creating regional links and increasing sustainable income for people.
