The Ministry of Transport has just approved the investment plan for the Cam Ly railway bridge project at Km24+134 on the Kep - Ha Long railway line.
The project aims to alleviate congestion on existing railway bridges to ensure smooth railway traffic in the Bac Giang region, minimize impacts on railway operation and exploitation; gradually complete National Highway 37 according to the plan; strengthen connectivity, improve operational capacity, reduce traffic accidents, and meet transportation needs along the transport corridor from Bac Giang and Hai Duong to localities in the Northern key economic region, thereby promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.
The project has a total estimated investment of VND 799.55 billion, with funding allocated from the central government budget during the 2021-2025 period.
The Ministry of Transport has approved the investment plan for the Cam Ly railway bridge project (Bac Giang province) to separate the current shared road-rail bridge and ensure safety.
The Ministry of Transport has assigned the Railway Project Management Board as the investor, with the project expected to be largely completed by 2025.
The project starts in Cam Ly commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province; and ends in Bac Lung commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province. The total length of the route is approximately 3,014m.
In terms of scale, the road section is designed to a standard speed of 80 km/h. The project design ensures technical requirements according to road classification standards, guarantees the required clearance according to regulations on the management of waterway and railway infrastructure, intersects with the right embankment of the Luc Nam River, and meets the flood drainage requirements of the area.
The Cam Ly road bridge is approximately 631m long; the railway overpass (Kep - Ha Long line) is approximately 175m long; the superstructure is expected to use reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete spans, while the substructure will be made of reinforced concrete.
In addition, invest in a complete system of horizontal and vertical drainage works; arrange traffic safety systems according to regulations; and install a lighting system to serve traffic.
The Railway Project Management Board is responsible for leading and coordinating with relevant agencies to complete the project's feasibility study report and submit it to the competent authority for approval in accordance with legal regulations; and for organizing the project implementation to ensure progress, quality, and efficiency.
At the same time, it is important to conduct a detailed survey to further evaluate and compare, and propose scale and design solutions that are suitable for the actual conditions of the construction area, meet transportation needs, ensure structural safety, and guarantee economic and technical efficiency.
Agreements will be reached with relevant agencies regarding the connection of the project's technical infrastructure and the design elevation of the structures to ensure appropriate design solutions, guaranteeing safe ship operation, waterway safety, structural safety, flood drainage capacity, and minimizing the impact on the lives of people in the areas through which the route passes.
