Total social investment in 9 months increased by 11.6% and FDI capital flow reached a record high.

On October 6, the General Statistics Office informed about the total investment capital implemented in society in the first nine months of 2025.

Accordingly, the total estimated amount reached 2.7 million billion VND, up 11.6% over the same period last year, significantly higher than the 7% increase in the same period in 2024. In particular, foreign direct investment (FDI) implemented in Vietnam reached 18.8 billion USD, up 8.5%, this is the highest level in nine months since 2021 to date.

In the third quarter, total social investment capital was estimated at VND1,100 trillion, up 13.3% over the same period last year. Of which, state capital was estimated at VND343 trillion, up 23.9%. Non-state capital reached VND582.2 trillion, up 8.2%. Foreign direct investment capital reached VND174.9 trillion, up 12.2%.

In the first nine months, the total social investment capital reached 2.7 quadrillion VND, allocated to the State sector at 798.4 trillion VND, accounting for 29.6% of the total capital and up 19.6% over the same period last year. The non-State sector reached 1.44 quadrillion VND, accounting for 53.3% of the total capital and up 7.8%. The sector with foreign direct investment reached 462.1 trillion VND, accounting for 17.1% of the total capital and up 11.2%.

In particular, the capital implemented from the State budget in the first nine months is estimated at VND 550.1 trillion, equal to 55.7% of the annual plan and up to 27.9% over the same period last year (much higher than the 2.5% increase in the same period in 2024). This shows the determination in disbursing public investment capital. Of which, central capital increased by 6%, local capital increased by 32.4% (with provincial capital increasing by 37.8% and commune capital increasing by 12.8%).

Foreign direct investment (FDI) continues to be one of the bright spots of the economy . Total registered foreign investment capital in Vietnam as of September 30 reached 28.54 billion USD, up 15.2% over the same period last year. Notably, realized FDI capital in Vietnam is estimated at 18.8 billion USD, up 8.5% over the same period last year. This is the highest level of nine months in the past 5 years.

Not only attracting investment, Vietnam is also actively promoting investment abroad. In the first nine months of the year, 134 projects were newly granted investment certificates with a total capital of 709.3 million USD, nearly 4 times higher than the same period last year. In addition, 23 projects adjusted their capital by an additional 137.5 million USD.
