Teaching the most naughty class in school, Hanoi teacher tells story of being constantly "heartbroken" by students

In the middle of the school yard, a banner was hung to wish the teacher a happy birthday, or when she entered the classroom, a confetti firecracker exploded, making her jump... are the expressions of affection that students have for Ms. Nguyen Van Anh, a teacher at Thach Ban Secondary School, Long Bien District, Hanoi .

People still say "First is the devil, second is the spirit, third is the student" and it is not wrong. However, besides the mischievous acts that make the classroom a mess and give teachers and families headaches, there are times when students make teachers' hearts melt because they are so adorable and affectionate.

Sharing with Dan Viet Newspaper reporter, Ms. Nguyen Van Anh, homeroom literature teacher of class 9D, Thach Ban Secondary School, Long Bien District, Hanoi, recounted her touching story on her recent birthday.

Ms. Van Anh said that her birthday is December 8th, which falls on Sunday. Last Saturday, the whole class sang Happy Birthday and said, "You came to class early so we didn't have time to prepare anything."

"I think that students remembering and congratulating her on her birthday is a precious and valuable thing. Because really, just being good and studying well is a gift for the teacher. But that's not the case. That Saturday was just the first time to distract the teacher," Ms. Van Anh happily said.

On Monday (December 9), when the flag salute ceremony had just ended, students and teachers stood up to go to class, a large banner was dropped from the 3rd floor with the words "Happy Birthday, Boss Van Anh" making the teacher "freeze" right in the school yard. At that time, the whole school witnessed it and everything was purple, the teacher's favorite color.

"I was so surprised and moved that I was speechless," Ms. Van Anh recalled that moment.

Thinking that was the end of it for her students, Ms. Van Anh entered the classroom to start her lesson, but as soon as she opened the door, she was startled by the sound of confetti exploding. The students continued to celebrate her birthday with a unique cake: on top was a December calendar with a heart-shaped number 8, when lit, the cake layer "Happy Birthday Ms. Van Anh" appeared.

"After that, the teacher and students cut the cake, smeared it all over each other's faces, and cleaned it up for a few minutes to continue the lesson. The students excitedly said, "This is a million dollar script" because they had organized it for me twice. They wished me a happy birthday and happiness with them. This is the last time they can organize a birthday party for me," Ms. Van Anh shared.

Having taught at Thach Ban Secondary School for 8 years, this is the 3rd year that Ms. Van Anh has accompanied class 9D, so the teachers and students love and are close to each other. This is a class considered "special" because it is among the most naughty in the school, which often makes the teacher startled. However, Ms. Van Anh always feels that the 43 students in the class are very affectionate.

Finally, Ms. Van Anh sent a message to the whole class: "Three years with naughty students with a full range of emotions: happy, sad, angry and always heartbroken because of the surprises the class brought to me. Thank you for bringing me joy, happiness and most of all, your feelings for me. The final year of high school - the last year that teachers and students are together, I hope the whole class will have many more beautiful memories and above all, I hope you will try your best to pass your first choice to enter grade 10 of high school."
