Promote education on life values, life ideals and culture and arts for students

On August 29, the Central Party Office issued document No. 17159-CV/VPTW to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Writers Association regarding the proposed educational orientation for high school students of the Vietnam Writers Association.

Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Vietnam Writers Association (Official Dispatch No. 84/HNV-VP, dated July 21, 2025; Report No. 95/HNVVN-BC, dated August 13, 2025) and the opinions of relevant agencies, the General Secretary has the following comments:

Acknowledging and appreciating the sense of responsibility of the Vietnam Writers Association in proposing educational orientations on life values, life ideals, and cultural and artistic education for high school students.

The Ministry of Education and Training shall strengthen direction and coordination with relevant agencies, mobilize the participation of forces in the political system, especially educators, artists, and experts, to organize diverse forms of education on patriotism, revolutionary ideals, and good cultural and humanistic values of the nation and humanity for students, suitable to the age and characteristics of each level of education.

The Ministry of Education and Training shall preside over and discuss with the Vietnam Writers Association and relevant agencies to report to the Government Party Committee on the above educational orientation proposal; consider and decide on the compilation, appraisal and integration on a digital platform, and use it appropriately in general education.

Sharing about the preparation process, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu said that the Vietnam Writers Association and the Ministry of Education and Training had discussed in advance and agreed on the theme and purpose of the project. In the coming time, the two sides will have a meeting to discuss implementation.

The project consists of two parts: learning materials about the Communist Party of Vietnam and teaching content for students from grades 1 to 12 about leader Ho Chi Minh.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu emphasized that in the history of Vietnam, the August Revolution in 1945 completely changed the fate of the country, bringing independence and freedom to the people. Currently, students have been taught about this issue, but the approach is not really effective. We hope that, through historical periods, events, and figures, there will be a suitable approach for students to easily absorb. The goal is to make historical figures, events, and periods become a part of the spiritual life of the next generation of young people.

In addition, the proposal of the Vietnam Writers Association focuses on three orientations, which are education on life values, life ideals and cultural and artistic education in general schools, especially through enhanced education programs.

Regarding the educational documents, the three documents in the Submission No. 95/HNVVN-BC dated August 13 are the result of the collaboration between the Vietnam Writers Association and the Vietnam Education Publishing House, initially piloting compilation according to the three above-mentioned orientations. Currently, the document set is in the stage of completing the content, with the participation of many writers, teachers, education and psychology experts.

The content is designed to be consistent from grade 1 to grade 12, implemented in the enhanced education program (session 2), and can be integrated into core subjects when appropriate.

The set of documents aims to be inspirational, close, age-appropriate, ensuring adherence to the 2018 General Education Program, not causing overload; at the same time applying active teaching methods and personalized approaches.

In terms of technology, documents are integrated on a digital platform, with learning assistants applying artificial intelligence (AI) and interactive learning materials to enhance the learning experience, ensuring synchronization with the digital transformation ecosystem of the education sector.

Regarding resources, the entire organization of compilation, printing and publication of the three sets of documents was 100% funded by socialized sources and the production and business operating expenses of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, without using the State budget.

At the same time, Viettel Enterprise Solutions Corporation will support the technology infrastructure, ensuring that documents are effectively exploited on the digital learning system. Teachers can access documents through their accounts, receive regular training, and do not incur additional costs.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association expressed his wish that historical periods, especially the current period, as well as the portrait, morality and ideology of Ho Chi Minh, will be included in the curriculum in a close and accessible way for students from grades 1 to 12.

The Vietnam Writers Association will be responsible for realizing the content and orientation through the works, while the Ministry of Education and Training will implement it in terms of educational science.
