Speed up construction progress of Provincial Road 753

The project to upgrade and expand provincial road 753 and build Ma Da bridge connecting with Long Thanh International Airport (Dong Nai) and Cai Mep and Thi Vai Ports (Ho Chi Minh City) was approved by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province in Decision No. 2118/QD-UBND dated December 27, 2023. In December 2024, the project officially started construction with a route length of 13km, passing through Dong Tam and Tan Loi communes and Binh Phuoc ward, with a total investment of 480 billion VND.

Currently, the project is being accelerated by construction units with the excitement and support of the people.

Proactive materials, racing against time

The Project to Upgrade and Expand Provincial Road 753 is being implemented simultaneously in 4 construction packages along the entire route, with the goal of speeding up progress while ensuring project quality.

In package 4, the route is over 4km long, from Km8+989 to Km13. This is the final section of the project, with complex terrain due to many steep hills. Leveling the ground is difficult and complicated, especially during the rainy season. However, the working atmosphere at the construction site is always bustling. At this time, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board has handed over 92% of the ground. The contractor has organized 100% of the construction of the foundation and spread 70% of the crushed stone.

Mr. Vo Van Hung, Commander of Package No. 4, said: “Currently, many projects in the area are facing difficulties in material sources, especially construction stone. However, we have mobilized all resources, contacted distant quarries, and hired vehicles to transport them to the staging area. The goal is to hand over the entire project by December 25, 2025, completing it ahead of schedule.”

Similarly, in the spirit of racing against time, the construction package No. 3, from Km5+300 to Km8+989, 3.689km long, is also being accelerated by the construction unit. Mr. Pham Khac Thinh, commander of this package, said: “We are implementing a rolling method, quick and ensuring quality. Wherever people hand over the site, the contractor will organize the construction there. The current difficulty is the rainy weather. However, we have gathered motorbikes and divided the workforce into many shifts to organize the construction during noon, evening, Saturday and Sunday. Currently, the unit has completed 70% of the route's length with asphalt concrete.”

Of the 4 packages implementing the Provincial Road 753 Project, package 1, from Km0+000 to Km2+250, 2.25km long, has basically completed the progress according to the contract. Although the package has to construct 2 bridges (Small Rat Bridge and Large Rat Bridge), the total work volume has reached over 80%. The remaining is waiting for some organizations and individuals to hand over the site for the construction of sidewalks and drainage ditches.

At this time, all bid packages are being accelerated, with the average total volume reaching over 70%. However, there are still some difficulties because the electricity, telecommunications, and water supply works in the project have not been relocated. Moreover, after the province's merger and the implementation of the 2-level local government model, there have been changes in administrative procedures, so the site clearance work still has some problems. The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is requesting relevant agencies and units to coordinate in accelerating the compensation, relocation of works, and handover of sites for project construction. At the same time, the board is submitting to the Provincial People's Committee an adjustment of the investment policy to supplement the remaining 17km of Provincial Road 753 to synchronize with the section under construction connecting to Ma Da Bridge.

Mr. DINH TIEN HAI, Deputy Director in charge of operating the Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board

People cooperate

As a business household right on the front of Provincial Road 753 in Cay Diep Hamlet, Dong Tam Commune, Ms. Tran Thi Hang said: “Now the State has invested in upgrading and expanding this road and building Ma Da Bridge connecting to the center of Dong Nai Province, opening up opportunities for people to do business and trade more conveniently. According to the road boundary, my family has to move in about 5m to widen the road. Therefore, I have now started to hire people to cut down nearly 20-year-old trees, remove roofs and canvas umbrellas to hand over the land. My family is very excited, because surely wherever the road is opened, the people will become rich.”

In the same hamlet of Cay Diep, Dong Tam commune, the family of Mrs. Le Thi Tuyet (65 years old) came from the West to settle down and start a business nearly 30 years ago. Every day, her family sells lunch and soft drinks, mainly to truck drivers and passersby. For many years, witnessing the deterioration of Provincial Road 753 with many dangerous potholes, deep holes, dusty sun, muddy rain, the road has now been upgraded, widened and opened, creating a regional traffic network, which makes her very excited.

Ms. Tuyet said: “When the Commune People's Committee and the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board informed us that the road boundary would be reclaimed to build a road, my family proactively moved the shop deeper inside. In the future, when the road is completed, my family will expand to some other business areas to develop.”
