The 169th death anniversary of Mr. Doan Minh Huyen

On October 3, the People's Committee of Thoi Son Ward (An Giang Province) coordinated with the Management Board of Thoi Son Pagoda Revolutionary Historical Relic; departments and organizations to organize the 169th death anniversary of Buddhist Master Tay An Doan Minh Huyen.

The memorial service will take place from October 1 to 3, 2025 (the 10th to 12th of the 8th lunar month). The main ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m. on October 3, 2025 at Thoi Son Pagoda.

Mr. Doan Minh Huyen was born on October 15, 1807, in Tong Son village, An Thanh Thuong commune, Sa Dec province (now My An Hung commune, Dong Thap province). He was the founder of the Buu Son Ky Huong sect and had the merit of leading followers and people to establish two villages, Hung Thoi and Xuan Son, now Thoi Son ward.

At the same time, Mr. Doan Minh Huyen also established 3 places of worship: Phuoc Dien Pagoda (Trai Ruong), Thoi Son Communal House (Trai Ray) and Thoi Son Pagoda (Buddhist Temple). These places of worship were recognized as revolutionary historical relics by the People's Committee of An Giang province.

Every year, the death anniversary of Mr. Doan Minh Huyen attracts about 50,000 pilgrims and tourists to make a pilgrimage and worship, becoming a unique local cultural event.

Thoi Son Ward People's Committee has commended collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the restoration, repair, protection and promotion of cultural values ​​and revolutionary historical relic sites in recent times.
