Illustrative exam questions for Math subject of high school graduation exam 2025

The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the sample test for Math, High School Graduation Exam 2025.

At present, when the new General Education Program is being implemented to grade 11, grade 12 textbooks have not been fully announced, but the Ministry of Education and Training has announced the 2025 illustration exam.

In the exam, the scope of knowledge of grade 10 is mainly used. This also ensures the spirit of the competency assessment exam, helps students visualize a new exam format and have a direction to review and prepare early for the exam.

According to many teachers, the structure of the exam format is oriented towards competency assessment, suitable for the new generaleducation program and is shown through illustrative questions, competency tables - accompanying thinking levels.

Accordingly, by looking at the sample Math test, students will know how many parts the test consists of, what types of multiple choice questions there are, and what (components) of competencies are assessed in the sample test.

For multiple-choice exams, there are a maximum of 3 types of multiple-choice test questions used in the exam, including multiple-choice questions, True/False questions, and short-answer multiple-choice questions.

Compared to the current high school graduation exam, experts from the Hoc Mai education system believe that the 2025 high school graduation exam in Math has the following innovations:

Regarding the number of questions, there are 50 questions with 34 commands to be done in 90 minutes;

Regarding question formats and scoring, two new question formats have been added (True or False and Short Answer) with separate scoring for each format.

Regarding the thinking level, the test format structure is oriented towards competency assessment, consistent with the 2018 general education program and is demonstrated through illustrative questions and accompanying competency - thinking level tables.

The questions in the illustration test try to be associated with meaningful contexts (contexts that have a certain effect/value on life, practice, and science).

The proportion of recognition and comprehension questions in the sample test is about 73% but will only account for about 6/10 points in the test, 4/10 points are still application questions, so universities and colleges can completely use the exam results to consider admission to the school.

Thus, with this exam, students also need to adjust their review, closely following the spirit of the new General Education Program in order to have the earliest and best preparation for the 2025 exam.
