The Ministry of Education and Training said that the total number of candidates registered for the 2025 high school graduation exam is 1,165,289; an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to last year. Of which, 12th grade candidates following the 2018 GeneralEducation Program are 1,122,507 (accounting for 96.33%); independent candidates are 42,782 (accounting for 3.67%).

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27.

From 2025, candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program taking the high school graduation exam will only take 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects (Literature, Mathematics) and 2 optional subjects (among the remaining subjects studied in grade 12 including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology.

Literature will be an essay test, with a duration of 120 minutes. The test consists of two parts: Reading (4 points) and Writing (6 points). The remaining subjects will be multiple choice, with Math taking 90 minutes and the remaining subjects taking 50 minutes.
