Buddhism shines on five continents
In his opening speech, Venerable Thich Tho Lac, head of the Cultural Committee of the 2025 Vesak Festival, said that the music night is an artistic journey leading back to mindfulness and inner light:
"Buddhism has always had the spirit of adapting to circumstances and not changing, adapting to circumstances and harmonizing with local culture.
Thanks to that, the good thoughts and lifestyle of Buddhism have invisibly permeated the lifeblood of the Vietnamese people. The event is an opportunity to share and spread the light of compassion and wisdom of Buddhism to everywhere."
The concert was divided into two parts. Part one was dedicated to the performance of the epic poem The Essence of the Heart Sutra.
With the resounding melodies of the orchestras of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra, the Phu Dong National Orchestra, the Saigon Choir and the voices of People's Artists My Hang, Tan Phuong and Dao Mac, the Vietnamese version of the Heart Sutra resounds solemnly, conveying a new and liberating perspective on Buddhism.

The latter part of the program features alternating Vietnamese and international Buddhist performances.
The works such as The World-Honored One's Song; Vesak Song; Living Joyfully - Giving Thanks; Buddhism Shines on Five Continents; ... are not just simple melodies but also prayers, like flowers of the heart crystallized from the painstaking creativity, from the spirit of meditation and Eastern aesthetics.
