Den Vau on stage as well as in life

"The time of rap", "Den is the star"... are not the reasons why this famous rapper was asked by the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center to collaborate on writing music about Ho Chi Minh City for upcoming events. Den became the number 1 choice for the project simply because "he is a decent artist", as shared by Ms. Pham Kim Hoa - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Light Music Center.

Talent of course

Not all of Den Vau's products when released make music lovers "crazy" or "dying". There are also songs that cause controversy, even criticism for semantic errors, but most of Den Vau's songs touch the hearts of listeners.

Den Vau's music is good, there is no need to argue, although the standard of "good" is quite vague because it depends on each person's taste. Den's music, rap/hip hop songs that are thought to be only suitable for a certain audience, attract a wide range of listeners, which is proof of his success.

"Have you heard Den Vau's new song yet?", "Is Den predicting the graduation exam again?", are the concerns and concerns of listeners enough to show the popularity of Den Vau's music? Or can you feel it through the audience's reaction during the shows, the latest being "Den's Show" with more than 10,000 spectators attending at My Dinh Athletics Palace? For nearly 3 hours, Den treated fans to a musical feast that was pleasing to the ears and eyes with guest artists Ha Anh Tuan, JustaTee, Lynk Lee, Kimmese and a total of nearly 30 songs, performed diversely through unique arrangements from hip hop, folk music, classical, Latin...

Opening with 2 songs "Dream" and "Ten Years", the atmosphere exploded and gradually drifted away with familiar, old melodies such as "Oh my God, I don't want to die yet", "Small path", "Day wandering"... then closing with the meaningful song "Thank you", "Show of Den" made the audience reluctant to leave even though it was late at night. An impressive live show, fully depicting the maturity and changes in Den's music from 2019 to 2023, as well as looking back on his 10-year journey pursuing emotional hip hop music.

"Den Vau's success comes from his naturalness and innocence" - experts say. From rapping on stage to everyday life, Den Vau does not follow any rules. He has never had to force himself to follow a detailed and elaborate image-building plan, he is always himself. Surrounded by fans who want to take photos together or simply a light touch at events, Den always satisfies fans with a gentle smile and does not forget to thank everyone even though he always tries to hide himself under a cap that covers most of his face.

Always be kind

Den Vau is always Den Vau, making a song that hits the top trending, he sits there and admires himself because he feels... so lucky, wherever he goes, he is afraid of people treating him like a star, preferring to live simply rather than struggling in the bright lights of showbiz. One of the things that helps Den Vau always love life is because he sympathizes with the difficulties and lives that are not related to him. Right after the clip recording the journey to visit children at 2 boarding schools in Muong Cha ( Dien Bien ), the song "Cooking for you" is one of his most recent charity projects.

After the MV "Cooking for you" was released and the impressive numbers that the Nuoi Em project reached such as 4,000 children receiving meals, more than 6,000 brothers and sisters waiting to receive the code to raise their children, Den expressed: "It is the support and contributions of everyone that made this come true. Please do not consider what Den does great because there are many good people out there. Den is not number 1 but just one of everyone."

During the trip to the village, knowing that most of the students and teachers had never been out of Dien Bien, Den invited everyone to Hanoi . The image of 17 students from these two schools in traditional costumes with their teachers and Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung - the head of the Nuoi Em project - appearing directly on the stage of "Den's Show" in Hanoi really left an impression on the audience.

Den Vau is the same on stage or in real life - saying what he thinks. He never thought he was talented and when he received mixed opinions about his rap being too simple, nothing special, he also... agreed. Den feels small and lucky with his achievements, because he always remembers that he used to work as a security guard before becoming a star.

When carefully thanking each person in the crew who made his live show, Den truly appreciated each contribution to the success of that concert - from the bottom of his heart.
