Depay 'disappears' in Brazil

This is the first time Depay has been absent since the season began on June 28. According to Globo , the reason comes from Corinthians' delay in paying the Dutch striker's bonus (nearly 720,000 euros).

Depay's management company in Brazil has also not received payment from Corinthians. The situation is getting more serious when the Brazilian club is also late in paying other players and staff.

According to Globo , Depay did not inform coach Dorival Júnior or any member of the coaching staff about his absence. Before that, the Dutch star always participated in all training sessions and showed great spirit.

Coach Dorival Júnior hopes to have Memphis join the next training session on July 10 (local time) to prepare for the upcoming match against RB Bragantino on July 13. However, the current situation has many fans worried about the possibility of Depay leaving the team in the near future.

Depay joined Corinthians in September 2024 on a two-year contract. After 42 matches, he scored 13 goals for the Brazilian club. The former MU star and Corinthians won the 2025 Campeonato Paulista championship.
