Mui Ne is a cape in Phan Thiet city, a famous tourist center of Binh Thuan province. The name Mui Ne comes from fishermen. "Mui" is a cape jutting out into the sea; "Ne" means a place to avoid storms. In 2018, Mui Ne was recognized as a national tourist area. This place is famous for its long blue beaches and beautiful sand dunes.
What season is Mui Ne beautiful?

From Ho Chi Minh City, tourists can now easily travel to Mui Ne by motorbike, bus or train.
Backpackers often follow the coastal route. From Ho Chi Minh City, you can follow the Cat Lai ferry, go to Long Thanh, then to Ba Ria town, continue towards Ho Tram through Loc An, then follow the coastal route towards Phan Thiet. The total distance is about 230 km.
If you don't go by motorbike, you can also go to Mien Dong bus station to buy a ticket to Phan Thiet, travel time is about 5 hours, ticket price is 130,000 VND per person, depending on the bus company.
Visitors can also take the SPT1/SPT4 train from Saigon station. Ticket price is 110,000 VND per person, departing in the morning.
From Hanoi, visitors can fly to Ho Chi Minh City and travel to Phan Thiet or fly to Cam Ranh, Nha Trang and then take a bus to Mui Ne (nearly 200 km).
From April 29, 2023, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway will be put into operation, shortening the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to about 2 hours by car. It is expected that by the end of 2023, Phan Thiet airport will be put into use in phase 1.

1. Hon Rom
Hon Rom is the name of a small, still wild mountain located in Long Son hamlet, Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet city. Visitors should come to Hon Rom early in the morning or late in the afternoon to watch the sunrise and sunset. This is also an ideal camping spot for a campfire at night or to watch the moon and stars. The beach cluster in Hon Rom has calm waves, no reefs and clear blue water. 2. Red Sand Dunes
Near Hon Rom is one of the most beautiful sights in Mui Ne - Red Sand Hill. Early in the morning, visitors can come here to fish, then go diving to see the coral, the evening is the best time to watch the sunset and sunset on the sea.
4. Bau Trang - Bau Sen
Bau Trang – Bau Sen are two natural freshwater lakes located between immense white sand dunes. Coming to Bau Trang in the summer, visitors can admire thousands of lotus flowers blooming among the white sand dunes.
Bau Trang sand dunes are considered as "mini Sahara desert" in Vietnam with immense and wild landscape. Here, visitors can rent off-road vehicles or Jeeps to drive around Bau Trang, costing about 600,000 VND for 20 minutes.
5. Suoi Tien

Duc Thanh School is also where President Ho Chi Minh stopped to teach before going to Saigon. Today, Duc Thanh School still retains almost intact the relics from nearly a century ago.
8. Van Thuy Tu Palace
Located on Ngu Ong Street, Van Thuy Tu Palace is an ancient relic (1762) with an ancient and solemn beauty. This is also a symbol of the whale worship of Binh Thuan fishermen. Van Thuy Palace is also the place to preserve the largest whale skeleton in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
This skeleton is 22 meters long and weighs up to 65 tons. Every year, solemn ceremonies are held at the Palace on the following lunar days: February 20 (Spring Festival); April 20 (Fishing Prayer); June 20 (Main Season); July 20 (Rowing) and August 23 (End of Season). During the ceremonies, there are also activities such as opera, boat racing, etc.
9. Mui Ne Bay
This is an attractive destination if you like swimming and experiencing outdoor activities. Along Mui Ne Bay are beautiful beaches with long stretches of white sand. If you want to find pristine, deserted beaches, you can rent a boat to Hon Lao Island. This is a deserted island near Mui Ne Bay but few people visit.
10. Poshanu Tower
7 km northeast of Phan Thiet city center, Poshanu Cham Tower is a group of remaining relics of the ancient Champa Kingdom. The tower has Hoa Lai architectural style following the ancient art style of Champa.

1. Seafood salad
Mui Ne is famous for its fish salad and snail salad. Fish salad is made from fresh anchovies, sardines or mackerel, served with raw vegetables, vermicelli and a special dipping sauce. Snail salad is made from julienned snail meat, pork, vegetables, roasted peanuts, fried onions mixed together and served with sweet and sour fish sauce.
2. Storm dishes
The specialty of Mui Ne sand dunes is the monitor lizard. The monitor lizard meat is as white as chicken but sweeter, richer and softer. There are many delicious dishes made from monitor lizards such as: grilled monitor lizard, roasted monitor lizard, steamed monitor lizard, monitor lizard sausage, monitor lizard salad, monitor lizard porridge and monitor lizard cooked with watermelon.
3. King crab
This is a specialty of Tuy Phong, Binh Thuan. The crab meat is sweet, chewy, and fragrant; the crab shell is crispy, soft, and can be broken with your teeth. King crab in Tuy Phong is available all year round, but the best time to eat the crab is around the twelfth lunar month. King crab is often grilled or steamed with salt, pepper, and lemon, but it is best cooked into porridge.
4. Soft rice paper rolls, rice paper with shrimp paste
These are popular snacks in Binh Thuan in general. You can find them at all street vendors, the intersection of Thu Khoa Huan and Tran Hung Dao is only sold in the late afternoon.
5. Hot pot
Hotpot is a typical dish in Phan Thiet that many tourists try to eat. The main ingredients are usually anchovy leaves, mackerel, herring, sardines, red tilapia... cleaned, filleted and then sliced into thin slices. Vegetables served with hotpot are also cut into thin strips. The waves are not too big but will be stronger than usual, you should find calm beaches with safety signs to swim.

Mui Ne has many foreign guests at night, mostly Russians and Koreans. Some hotels only rent cars to foreigners, so don't be too surprised.
