59 new outbreaks occurred this week, bringing the total number of active outbreaks to 114. Some outbreaks have hundreds of patients, such as Phung Xa commune, Thach That district, with 324 patients; and Vinh Ninh village, Vinh Quynh commune, Thanh Tri district, with 188 patients.
In light of the increasing number of dengue fever cases in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health has requested the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to provide technical and professional support for dengue prevention and control. Simultaneously, the Institute is coordinating with the city to assess the situation and the causes of the increase, aiming to prevent outbreaks from spreading and prolonging.
In August and September, Hanoi launched an environmental sanitation campaign, spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes in high-risk areas and outbreak zones. Residents were advised to remove discarded items that hold stagnant water, where mosquito larvae and mosquitoes breed.
