Construction of project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 395, Binh Giang district

Increase connectivity

These days, the working atmosphere at the construction site to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 395 and the road leading from Cau Cay Bridge to Provincial Road 394 is bustling and busy. Dozens of engineers, workers and machines are divided into 6 construction teams, simultaneously carrying out many items. The roadbed construction section, sand filling, crushed stone grading; pile driving section, embankment wall foundation, box culverts... All construction teams are working urgently, striving to complete the project by the end of 2024.

The project to renovate and upgrade road 395 and the approach road to Cay bridge to road 394 passing through Vinh Hung, Vinh Hong, Tan Viet, Hung Thang and Long Xuyen communes of Binh Giang district is invested by the Binh Giang district Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The renovate and upgrade section of provincial road 395 is about 7.2 km long, starting at km16 +750 intersecting with the new residential roundabout south of Cay village, ending at km23 +920 intersecting with Sop C bridge. The scale and standards are a level III plain road with 4 lanes, designed speed of 60km/h. The approach road to Cay bridge has an end point intersecting provincial road 394 at km10 +115 including 3 investment segments; a level II plain road with 4 lanes, designed speed of 80km/h.

Once completed, this route will form a traffic axis connecting industrial parks in Binh Giang and Cam Giang, meeting the growing demand for transportation and trade, while creating favorable conditions for attracting investment and contributing to reducing traffic accidents.

The opening of the project to build an interchange connecting Provincial Road 392, Binh Giang District with the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway last February was a special milestone for many people in Binh Giang. After more than 3 months of operation, on average, there are 3,000-5,000 vehicles entering and exiting the expressway at this interchange every day. "Since the opening of the interchange, the travel time of people in Binh Giang and neighboring districts to Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Hai Duong has been shortened, and the transportation of goods has also become more convenient. Hopefully, in the future, there will be many projects attracted locally to promote socio-economic development," said Mr. Vu Duc Duan, a resident of Duong Xa village, Nhan Quyen commune.

Remove the "bottleneck"

The interchange connects provincial road 392 in Binh Giang district with Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, facilitating trade between Binh Giang and neighboring localities.

Another important traffic project being implemented in Binh Giang is the North-South axis road of Thanh Mien district (phase 1). The route is about 6.6 km long. The starting point of the project intersects with Provincial Road 392, in Nhan Quyen commune (Binh Giang), the end point connects with the East-West axis road project, in Lam Son commune (Thanh Mien). Phase 1 of the project is a level III plain road, with a roadbed width of 12 m and a design speed of 80 km/h. The project is invested by the Provincial Investment and Construction Management Board, with a total investment of more than 397 billion VND.

When the project is completed and put into operation, it will connect the East-West axis of Hai Duong province with provincial road 392, the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, forming a main axis connecting the districts of Binh Giang, Thanh Mien, Ninh Giang, Tu Ky ... and connecting traffic between the two provinces of Hai Duong - Hung Yen, creating new development space, exploiting land funds on both sides of the route, reducing the load on the current traffic network in the area, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the two districts of Binh Giang, Thanh Mien in particular and Hai Duong province in general. The project started construction in June 2023, and has so far completed more than 5 km of asphalt concrete layer of the lower layer of the road surface, striving to complete the traffic opening in December 2024.

Located in the southwest of Hai Duong province, Binh Giang is surrounded by the Sat River. Previously, from National Highway 5 to Binh Giang, there were two gateways: Sat Bridge and Cay Bridge. The bridges were built a long time ago, so they are small and narrow like a "bottleneck", hindering local traffic. The new Sat Bridge connecting National Highway 38 has been completed, and the new Cay Bridge connecting Highway 394 is under construction. When put into use, it will create open gateways, contributing significantly to traffic and trade connections in Binh Giang.

According to comrade Truong Manh Long, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Giang District, in recent times, Binh Giang has received attention for investment in many projects and traffic works. Determining the role and importance of key traffic projects in the area, the district has focused on directing the rapid implementation of site clearance to ensure the progress of project construction. In addition, many district roads have also been expanded and upgraded to meet the travel needs of the people. The district also supports communes in investing in rural traffic routes. From the synchronous traffic infrastructure, it will create important connections, create motivation to attract investment, promote the potential and strengths of Binh Giang, strive to develop Binh Giang into a type IV urban area and establish a town before 2030 and achieve the goal of becoming a dynamic industrial park associated with the province's specialized economic zone in the coming years.

A number of urban traffic projects have been and are being implemented by the Binh Giang District Investment and Construction Project Management Board, such as: Upgrading the sidewalk section of km0-km1+334 of Provincial Road 392 (from the New Year intersection to the traditional house) and Dinh Tien Hoang Street; upgrading the sidewalk, drainage ditch and lighting system of Route 392 (from Binh Giang High School to the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway), phase 1; upgrading and renovating Provincial Road 395 (from km 16+750-km23+920) and the approach road from Cay Bridge to Provincial Road 394.
