Dien Bien responds to the national walking program "Moving forward with Vietnam"

On the morning of August 16, at Dien Bien Phu Square, Dien Bien Phu ward and all communes and wards of Dien Bien province (except communes affected by floods: Xa Dung, Tia Dinh, Na Son, Muong Luan, Pu Nhi, Phinh Giang) simultaneously organized the national walking program "Moving Forward with Vietnam".

The program was attended by Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, unions, armed forces of the province; permanent office of Nhan Dan Newspaper and nearly 20,000 participants. The program was organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security nationwide to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

At 6:00 a.m., people in the province turned to the historic Ba Dinh Square via online television to participate in the Flag-Salute Ceremony and sing the National Anthem in the morning according to the National Flag-Raising Ceremony schedule. This was followed by activities to introduce the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam through the project "Love Vietnam", as well as to promote and encourage people to experience and promote tourism through the NFC check-in system. After that, delegates and people departed from Dien Bien Phu Ward Square, walking 2km to Vo Thi Sau Park in a vibrant, united and excited atmosphere.

With the main message " 1 billion steps into the new era", the program mobilizes the collective strength of millions of people across the country to join in walking, marking 1 billion steps for the health, solidarity and aspiration of a nation that is strongly transforming in the new era . The program contributes to promoting the movement of the whole people participating in sports training, responding to the campaign "The whole people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland". This is a practical activity showing patriotism, each step recorded through the digital platform of the campaign will become a "green step" - a small action but of great significance, reducing carbon emissions and moving towards the goal of Net Zero (net zero emissions) of the country. At the same time, it demonstrates the will of the people of Dien Bien for a great goal: For a united, strong Vietnam, ready to step forward into a new era - the era of national aspirations, of the spirit of progress for a powerful future.

“Moving Forward with Vietnam” is a community activity of unprecedented scale and significance, taking place at a special moment when the whole country is entering a new development phase along with the rearrangement of administrative units. This is the first time a walking activity has taken place simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 communes, wards and administrative zones nationwide.
