This is the first time the Vietnam People's Army has sent a delegation of 86 soldiers and leaders to participate. On Red Square on May 9, the red flag with a yellow star fluttered along with the flags of other countries sending delegations such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, China... creating special emotions in the Vietnamese community in Russia in particular and the Vietnamese people in general.

According to the recorded images, the type of gun used by the soldiers is the AK-74M, the most popular personal weapon of the Russian army.

Russia first introduced the modernized AK-74M rifle during the 2015 Red Square parade. This is a product of the Izhmash Plant, which uses new materials and new technologies to deeply modernize the AK-74 rifle that has been used by the former Soviet Army and the current Russian Federation for decades.

The AK-74M still uses the traditional mechanical structure of the AK rifle with the advantages of easy disassembly, repair and durability in harsh conditions, but has been refined to increase range, reduce recoil, and can be equipped with many types of modern combat support accessories.

In terms of characteristics, the AK-74M weighs about 3.4 kg (without magazine), has an overall length of 943 mm, uses standard 5.45 x 39 mm ammunition with a 30-round magazine. The gun has a firing rate of 600 rounds/minute, a bullet velocity of 900 m/second, and an effective range of 500 - 800 m.

In combat tests, the AK-74M rifle's firepower, range and convenience increased by 20-30% compared to the standard AK-74. Also because the gun is light, soldiers using this gun can carry, turn and maneuver more easily on the battlefield. The gun can operate well in conditions of minus 50 degrees Celsius or in desert and mud conditions...

In addition, the AK-74M can be equipped with a variety of modern combat support accessories such as: modern optical-electronic and laser aiming devices, flashlights for low visibility areas and silencers. It can also be equipped with a 40 mm grenade launcher and a bayonet.
