(Dan Tri) - Australian athlete Gout Gout had an impressive performance when completing the 200m distance with a time of 19.98 seconds at the Queensland state championship (Australia) on March 16.
The 17-year-old athletics prodigy is dominating the world and has achieved results on par with Usain Bolt at the peak of his career (19.19 seconds). Thanks to that, he has emerged as a phenomenon in the world of athletics.

With a time of 19.98 seconds, Gout broke Peter Norman's long-standing 200m national record (20.04 seconds) and was highly appreciated by experts.
Movement scientist Dylan Hicks shared some analysis of Gout's wind-assisted 19.98-second 200m sprint and revealed some surprising statistics.
The Australian sprinted to an incredible final 100m. According to Hicks, Gout ran the first 100m of the race in 10.67 seconds, came through the finish line “like a rocket” and finished the last 100m in 9.31 seconds. “Statistically, his last 100m was 9.31! If he keeps up his form, he will go down in 200m history,” Hicks said.
The current world record holder for the fastest 200m is Usian Bolt with a time of 19.19 seconds at the 2009 World Championships. The former Jamaican's statistics at that time were 9.92 seconds for the first 100m and 9.27 seconds for the second 100m.
These figures suggest that Gout has performed similarly to Bolt when the Jamaican Olympic champion was at his peak. Neither athlete was a speedy starter but their final 100m sprints were impressive.

"It feels great to be compared to the world record holder," Gout told 7News Spotlight. "Even though I might look like Usain Bolt, I'm just trying to be myself and try to be a better Gout."
