Hai Tien Beach, stretching over 6 km (located in Hoang Tien and Hoang Thanh communes, Thanh Hoa province), is a beautiful beach in Thanh Hoa province, second only to Sam Son Beach. Every year, Hai Tien Beach attracts millions of tourists for relaxation and swimming. However, recently, Hai Tien Beach has been facing several "dangers" for locals and tourists due to the appearance of illegal fishing grounds.
According to observations by Thanh Niên newspaper on the morning of May 7th, when the tide receded, Hai Tien beach revealed dangers if locals and tourists were not careful.

Many concrete blocks containing steel reinforcement were broken during the dismantling of the "giant" hands in January, but the construction unit did not clean them up, leaving many pieces lying on Hai Tien beach, posing a safety hazard.

An iron stake protrudes about 30 cm from the sand at Hai Tien beach when the tide is low. It would be very dangerous for tourists to swim when the tide rises. This is a remaining iron stake after the demolition of the "giant" hand sculptures.

Following the storms of 2025, the seawall system was damaged by waves, with many concrete blocks from the embankment washing ashore onto the beach, creating an unsightly and dangerous environment for swimmers.

Oysters and barnacles thrive on the concrete slabs; stepping on them could easily cut your foot.

It's not difficult to spot many iron spikes and sharp pieces of iron on the beach when the tide recedes.

From the central square of Hai Tien beach southward, there are more than 10 access points to and from the beach, most of which are damaged, making it difficult for people to go up and down to swim.

Many warning signs about the dangers have been put up by the local authorities to alert residents and tourists.

The area around the Phuc Ngu sluice gate (located in Hamlet 1, Hoang Tien Commune; formerly Hamlet 1, Hoang Truong Commune) has many uncleaned concrete blocks and excess mortar left behind after the seawall construction, causing an unsightly appearance.

Near the Flamingo Hai Tien resort, there are still many decaying logs emitting a foul odor and protruding from the ground whenever large waves wash away the surface sand. On May 7th, the local authorities had to mobilize two excavators and manpower to clear them away.

Mr. Le Duy Trong, Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Hoang Tien Commune People's Committee, said that the storms in 2025 had destroyed the embankment system, causing some concrete slabs to spill onto the beach. During the removal of the giant hand-shaped structures, the construction unit did not clean up the debris completely. "We will request relevant units to organize the cleanup of rocks, concrete, and sharp steel stakes in the beach area to ensure safety for beachgoers. We will clean up the section near the Flamingo tourist area in the next few days," Mr. Trong said.
