Police Delegation competes in the 2025 National Traditional Martial Arts Championship

On the evening of August 4, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai Province coordinated with the Vietnam Sports Administration to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Traditional Martial Arts Championship.

In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that this year's tournament gathered 686 team leaders, coaches, referees and athletes from 36 teams from 29 units, provinces, cities and sectors across the country to participate in the tournament.

The Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee hopes that athletes will compete with all their might in a spirit of humanity, martial arts, exchange and learning to contribute to preserving and spreading the good values of traditional Vietnamese martial arts.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 National Traditional Martial Arts Championship will take place from now until August 12 with two competition categories including boxing and combat.

In the boxing event, athletes compete in 3 age groups: 17-40 years old, 41-50 years old, 51-60 years old. Units that choose to compete in boxing will have 20 events for men and women; boxing will choose 8 events for men and women, and sparring will have 3 events.

Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee presented flowers and souvenir flags to the participating delegations.

The competition will be in the age group of 17-40 years old with 27 weight categories (15 male weight categories and 12 female weight categories), athletes will compete in individual knockout matches.

As the host team, Gia Lai Province Traditional Martial Arts Team participated in the tournament with a force of 11 coaches and 67 athletes determined to maintain the first place in both events.

Participating in this year's National Traditional Martial Arts Championship, the CAND Martial Arts Delegation will consist of 1 team leader, 2 coaches and 14 athletes. The CAND Martial Arts Delegation will compete for medals in 15 events throughout the tournament.
