BTO-On the afternoon of October 18, the Government's Working Group 435 led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, Member of the Government, had an online meeting with the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan on the situation of production, business, construction investment and import-export in the first 9 months of 2024 in the two provinces and the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses according to Official Dispatch No. 102 dated October 6, 2024 of the Prime Minister.
Chairing at the Binh Thuan bridge point were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang and leaders of relevant departments and branches.
At the meeting, leaders of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces comprehensively reported on the actual situation and results achieved in each province's fields in the past time; identified difficulties, obstacles and causes, and at the same time made specific recommendations and proposals.
Accordingly, the Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee said that the growth rate of gross domestic product (GRDP) in the first 9 months of Binh Thuan is estimated to increase by 6.3% over the same period (ranked 45th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide). In particular, the industry - construction sector increased by 9.59%; services increased by 5.93%; agriculture - forestry and fishery increased by 3.7%. Tourism activities continued to develop steadily, especially during holidays and Tet. In the first 9 months, it is estimated to welcome 7.3 million visitors, reaching 76.74% of the plan, up 11.42% over the same period; tourism revenue was 18,630 billion VND. Since the beginning of the year, Binh Thuan province has continued to focus resources on accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects and key works of the province. At the same time, continue to accelerate the implementation of projects under the socio-economic recovery and development program, 3 national target programs. Import turnover in the first 9 months alone is estimated at 1,050 million USD, reaching 81.4% of the plan, up 18.72% over the same period...
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang, Binh Thuan province has so far received 45 petitions. After reviewing, 39 petitions have been processed and guided, while 6 petitions have not been processed, guided or have not been completely resolved. Regarding the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 102/CD-TTg dated October 6, 2024 of the Prime Minister on promoting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee on documents directing the implementation. Specifically, the number of houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs in need of construction and repair in 2024 and 2025 in the province is 367. Of which, the implementation cost from the district-level Gratitude Fund is nearly 12.5 billion VND, the cost that needs to be supported is 5.8 billion VND. For housing needs of poor and near-poor households by the end of 2025, there will be 1,678 households with funding needing support of more than 80 billion VND. After listening to local opinions, representatives of relevant ministries and central agencies focused on reviewing and responding to the handling of previous recommendations and resolving new issues arising in practice. Thereby, in order to effectively promote the development of production, business, investment, construction, and import and export of the two provinces.
Concluding the working session, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang highly appreciated the achievements of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces, in areas with many bright spots in the economic and social situation, especially production and business, construction investment and import and export. The Minister suggested that the two provinces continue to promote the achieved results, overcome limitations and difficulties, and propose comprehensive and feasible solutions to exploit all potentials and advantages of the provinces. Regarding the group of issues proposed by the two provinces, the Working Group has compiled and sent them to the ministries and branches for receipt and settlement. These contents include recommendations that have been processed and have written instructions. Minister Nguyen Van Thang suggested that the ministries and branches continue to pay attention and support the handling as soon as problems arise to remove and resolve them completely. Regarding recommendations related to the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the Minister of Transport requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with the two localities to review, have accurate statistics and closely follow the direction of the Government to comprehensively implement the goal of eliminating 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses. Based on the results of the working session, the Working Group will fully synthesize the recommendations of the two provinces and the opinions of relevant ministries and branches, report to the Government and the Prime Minister for direction to remove the problems to support the localities to continue to develop sustainably in the coming time.
