On June 1 and 2, a delegation from the General Department of Logistics led by Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang, Director of the General Department, inspected logistics work in the first 6 months of the year at Military Region 4. The delegation included representatives of leaders and commanders of the General Staff and specialized departments under the General Department.

The report of Military Region 4 and the actual inspection show that in the first 6 months of 2023, the military region has closely followed the Logistics Command and instructions of the General Department of Logistics; synchronously deployed and effectively implemented all aspects of logistics support work for the military region's armed forces. The basic logistics goals and targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan; the soldiers' living conditions, accommodation, and workplaces have been improved; health care for soldiers has been well implemented; logistics models have continued to be consolidated and effectively promoted; basic construction work has been closely deployed and of good quality. In particular, recently, Military Region 4 has merged the 873rd Water Transport Brigade and the 654th Transport Regiment into the 654th Mixed Transport Brigade, under the Logistics Department in accordance with regulations; organized logistics training for the subjects according to plan; maintained good working order and regime; managed and used materials and the industry budget seriously and economically.

After listening to the report and the actual inspection process at a number of units, concluding the inspection, Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang acknowledged and commended the results achieved in the logistics support work of Military Region 4 in the past time.
The Chief of the General Department of Logistics requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Military Region 4 Command continue to pay attention to leading and directing the agencies, units, and logistics sectors of the military region to thoroughly grasp the policies and resolutions of the Central Military Commission, the Command of the Ministry of National Defense on logistics work; instructions and directions of the General Department of Logistics. Organize a review of logistics work targets and objectives, adjust them to the actual situation of the unit; strengthen leadership, command, and direction to successfully complete the logistics plan targets for 2023.

Along with that, strictly maintain the order and logistics regime for combat readiness; effectively carry out the work of building logistics in defense areas. At the same time, organize the procurement of logistics materials according to the decentralization in accordance with the provisions of law; ensure adequate and timely logistics regimes and standards for the subjects.

Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang noted that the military region's logistics sector needs to focus on further promoting production and processing in accordance with the conditions of each unit in each stationed area, maintaining stability and improving the lives of soldiers. Regularly inspect, maintain and service mechanical boilers, oil stoves, and electric stoves to ensure safety; manage and use military uniforms in accordance with regulations. Proactively prevent and combat epidemics, sunstroke, and heatstroke; manage and take good care of soldiers' health. Strictly implement regulations on capital construction investment; do a good job of planning and dividing functional zones when implementing projects according to plan.
