On the afternoon of July 14, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation held a conference to exchange information on coordination with media and press agencies in the delegation's propaganda activities.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Huynh Thi Phuc - Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation - said that the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation after merging Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 44 delegates, expected to be divided into 15 groups.
In the coming time, the delegation's voter contact activities will take place at about 80 locations, spread across 168 communes and wards.
"With a large area, a large amount of work and intertwined with many other political , economic and social activities, we hope that press agencies will proactively coordinate and accompany in transmitting information and promptly reflecting the delegation's activities," Ms. Phuc shared.
She also proposed that the press create conditions for delegates to have the opportunity to share information, contributing to the rapid and accurate dissemination of propaganda content related to the activities of the National Assembly and local elected bodies.
Ms. Phuc believes that the close coordination between the press and the City's National Assembly Delegation will contribute to improving the effectiveness of communication work, creating a new step in bringing information about the National Assembly closer to the people, while making practical contributions to the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Contributing his opinion at the conference, Mr. Mai Ngoc Phuoc - editor-in-chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper - commented that Ho Chi Minh City press has recently clearly reflected the activities of the City's National Assembly Delegation.
On the other hand, many delegates of the delegation also actively cooperated with the press to speak out about issues that voters and people are interested in.
According to Mr. Phuoc, in addition to reporting on the activities of Ho Chi Minh City in general and the City Delegation in particular, the press also plays the role of a bridge, conveying the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people.
He expects delegates to listen, receive those reflections and respond through the press, so that people feel their voices are heard and cared for.
He also emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City press not only reflects, but also plays an important role in criticizing and contributing ideas to build policies and guidelines.
"Some delegates have shared with me that many contents published in the newspapers Phap Luat TP.HCM, Tuoi Tre, Nguoi Lao Dong ... have been accepted and brought up for discussion at the parliament. In the coming time, we hope that delegates will continue to accompany and participate with the press in discussions, seminars, and policy comments, so that the policies and regulations issued are close to real life" - he said.
Mr. Phuoc also proposed that the City's National Assembly Delegation increase regular exchanges with the press, proactively share information about activities and work orientations so that press and media agencies can promptly update and disseminate information to voters and people of Ho Chi Minh City.
Hope the press will accompany, reflect reality and contribute ideas.
Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper - said that the press needs to be given the opportunity to access information promptly, especially on sensitive issues and content that requires frank and constructive comments.
In addition to organizing regular press conferences, she proposed expanding the form of thematic contacts, discussions, and workshops with groups of people such as women, businessmen, scientists, etc. to receive multi-dimensional voices from society.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation - affirmed that he would accept comments from leaders of press and media agencies to improve the quality of the delegation's activities in the coming time.
Mr. Loi said that the City Party Committee has directed and the City People's Committee is developing and proposing a number of specific mechanisms for the new Ho Chi Minh City. The upcoming focus of the delegation is to participate in institutional development, both at the central and local levels.
Therefore, he hopes that the press will actively debate and contribute opinions, becoming a forum for people to give advice to the city.
According to Mr. Loi, with expanded administrative boundaries, the new Ho Chi Minh City requires a smarter management method, and the administrative procedure system must also be more transparent and modern.
The city delegation plans to organize a thematic survey on building digital government, reforming administrative procedures, etc. He hopes that the press will accompany, reflect on reality, and contribute ideas to the delegation on these contents.
The Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation also hopes: "The press will continue to promote its role as a forum to reflect the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people, especially on long-standing pressing issues, hot issues that have not been resolved for many years, as well as contribute ideas for policies that are not close to the practical life of the people and voters."
