Duc Xuan ward voters agree to change the name of the residential group

In order to ensure convenience in administrative management after the reorganization, the People's Committee of Duc Xuan Ward, Thai Nguyen Province organized a consultation with voters on the plan to rename residential groups in the area. On the evening of July 18, 19 residential groups subject to renaming completed the consultation, with the results showing high consensus from the people.

Voters in residential groups in Duc Xuan ward unanimously raised their hands to vote, 100% agreeing with the name change plan.

According to Resolution No. 1683/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the new Duc Xuan ward was established on the basis of merging 3 old wards, including: Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Huyen Tung and Duc Xuan.

After the reorganization, the entire ward has an area of over 34km², a population of nearly 23,000 people, with 45 residential groups (TDP). However, because the old wards had many TDPs previously named in sequential numbers (1, 2, 3...), after the merger, there were many cases of duplicate names, causing difficulties in determining addresses and carrying out administrative procedures.

The plan to rename residential areas is built on the following principles: Keep the 17 residential areas in Nguyen Thi Minh Khai ward (old). In Duc Xuan ward (old), keep the residential areas with letters after the number; only group 11C is changed to group 11A for consistency; the remaining 6 groups have the letter "A" added after the number (a total of 7 residential areas are renamed). 12 residential areas in Huyen Tung ward (old) keep the same order number and add the letter "C" at the end (1C, 2C, 3C...).

This name change is to avoid duplication, ensure consistency and convenience in management and statistics, as well as better serve people's lives.

Immediately after the Party Executive Committee of the ward unanimously approved, the People's Committee of Duc Xuan ward organized to collect opinions from voters or representatives of households in relevant residential areas. The results at 19 residential areas showed that the majority of voters agreed with the name change plan.

Duc Xuan Ward People's Committee is continuing to complete the dossier and submit it to competent authorities for approval to officially implement in the coming time.
