Delegation of Lang Son province: Survey on pilot construction of smart border gates and agricultural processing zones in Guangxi, China

– During the working trip to attend the Spring Meeting 2024 program and the 15th Conference of the Joint Working Committee in Guangxi, China, on the afternoon of February 25, the provincial delegation led by comrade Nguyen Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and worked in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.

Within the framework of the program, the Provincial Party Secretary and delegates of Lang Son province (Vietnam) visited and surveyed the actual situation of the pilot construction of smart border gates of Guangxi, China on the dedicated freight transport route Huu Nghi (Lang Son, Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (Guangxi, China); surveyed the processing, manufacturing and packaging activities of agricultural products imported from Vietnam to Guangxi, China at the Ha Trach industrial park, Bang Tuong town, Guangxi, China.

The Huu Nghi (Vietnam) – Huu Nghi Quan (China) smart border gate project is implemented by the People 's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China based on satellite positioning and 5G technology. The project uses AVG unmanned container transport vehicles, automatic cranes, intelligent map inspection systems and allows unmanned automatic customs clearance 24 hours a day.

According to China's proposal on the location and construction plan of Vietnam's smart border gate project, the total operating distance of unmanned automatic vehicles traveling across the border is about 3.6km, of which the Chinese side is 3.1km long and the Vietnamese side is more than 500m long. When the smart border gate is completed, the import and export capacity will be about 2.8 thousand containers/day, an increase of about 1.6 - 1.8 thousand containers compared to traditional customs clearance activities.

Regarding the processing of agricultural products imported from Vietnam to Guangxi, China, currently, in the industrial park of Ha Trach town, Bang Tuong town, Guangxi, China, there are a number of enterprises that process, package black jelly, pineapple, mango, durian, etc. Enterprises that process, package agricultural products have large investment capital, and carry out processing and packaging stages on modern production lines. After processing and packaging, Vietnamese agricultural products will be consumed domestically in China and continue to be exported to some European countries.

Through a field survey of the construction of smart border gates; survey of agricultural processing activities in Guangxi, China, the Delegation of Lang Son province has gained more useful information to study and apply to the implementation of the Project on piloting smart border gates in Lang Son after the Project was approved by the Prime Minister .
