Quang Nam artists and actors won high prizes at the Folk Cultural Performance Competition of Ethnic Groups

At the 2024 Folk Cultural Performance Contest of Ethnic Groups organized by the Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Quang Ngai province, 26 provinces and cities nationwide participated.

More than 30 artisans and mass actors from the Co Tu ethnic group in Dong Giang district, representing Quang Nam province, participated in this performance, with 4 performance contents including: Traditional costumes; traditional rituals; folk song, folk dance and ethnic costumes; folk culinary arts...

As a result, the Quang Nam delegation won 1 gold medal (folk dance performance "Buy the harvest"); 3 silver medals (love song performance; performance of the traditional ritual of the Co Tu ethnic group; dance performance to the gong rhythm "tang tung da da"); 1 certificate of merit for the collective of Quang Nam artisans who presented a special feast in the culinary art performance competition.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Do Huu Tung - Vice Chairman of Dong Giang District People's Committee acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the artisans and actors at the 2024 Folk Cultural Performance Competition of Ethnic Groups in Quang Ngai province.

At the same time, it is recommended that the district's functional sectors continue to do a good job in selecting and gathering artisans and actors to practice, exchange experiences, collect, explore and create in artistic work; introduce and promote the values of intangible cultural heritage, customs, traditional festivals, folk songs, folk dances, costumes and cuisine of ethnic groups widely inside and outside the province.

Thereby contributing to preserving, conserving and promoting the values and traditional cultural identities of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas of Quang Nam.

On this occasion, the District People's Committee commended 2 collectives and 3 individuals with achievements in organizing and implementing tasks at the National Folk Cultural Performance Contest of Ethnic Groups in 2024.
