Businesses spend billions on scholarships for agricultural students and recruitment after graduation

On the evening of October 11, before the opening of the new school year 2024 - 2025, at the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture , a scholarship award ceremony was held for agricultural students. At the scholarship award ceremony, more than 50 students with excellent academic results, and new students with high scores were awarded scholarships by businesses.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen affirmed that granting scholarships and supporting students to start businesses is one of the contents that the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture pays special attention to.

According to the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, among the contents of cooperation with enterprises, student scholarships are always an important content that the school has promoted to implement. Up to now, the total value of study encouragement scholarships that the school grants to students annually is up to about 30 billion VND.

The most popular of these is the study encouragement scholarship for students with good academic and training results each semester. In addition, the school also grants scholarships for specific groups such as: scholarships for new students, scholarships for graduate interns, etc.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, said that among the scholarships, scholarships sponsored by businesses are popular and have great value. Currently, there are nearly 100 businesses providing scholarships to students with a total value of tens of billions of VND. In particular, there are businesses providing scholarships of up to 250 - 500 million VND/school year. Accordingly, students receive valuable scholarships of up to 1,000 - 2,000 USD/school year.

Most businesses give scholarships to students with good academic results and students who overcome difficulties and are in difficult economic and family circumstances. Some businesses add criteria for students who actively participate in social activities, students with scientific research topics, students with start-up projects, etc. Therefore, students of Vietnam Academy of Agriculture are encouraged, motivated, and given favorable conditions by generous scholarship money from businesses.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, in addition to providing scholarships and funding for training, many businesses in the agricultural sector also commit to accepting interns and giving priority to recruitment immediately after graduation.

In particular, the academy is collaborating with a large enterprise in the livestock industry to select and train in a joint program and commit to recruiting livestock and veterinary students when participating in this training program.

Orientation and arousing entrepreneurial aspirations for high school students

Previously, on the afternoon of October 11, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture held a conference: Orientation of start-up activities for students, with the participation of representatives of the Department of Education and Training of northern localities.

Students of Vietnam National Academy of Agriculture always win high prizes in startup competitions.

Sharing at the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen said that in 10 years of implementing activities to support student startups, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture has won first prize in the National Startup Competition 5 times and was honored as "Outstanding school in building a startup ecosystem".

Accordingly, at the conference, representatives of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture proposed to continue to closely cooperate with the Departments of Education and Training in 26 northern provinces and cities to continue organizing seminars on the entrepreneurial journey for high school students; equipping teachers with entrepreneurial knowledge from high school level; equipping officials of the Youth Union and Association with entrepreneurial knowledge; and organizing a contest for scientific and technological startup ideas among high school students.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen affirmed that the above activities will contribute to creating a favorable environment for students to develop creative thinking and entrepreneurial skills, while promoting the connection between the academy and the Department of Education and Training in supporting the young generation to establish their own careers.
