Hai Anh Garment Joint Stock Company in Binh Minh Commune specializes in sewing for export. The company currently has nearly 2,000 sewing machines in 80 production lines with 1,900 workers. The large number of sewing machines means that the average monthly electricity consumption is about 1,320 kW. To save electricity, the company has installed inverters for industrial sewing machines. The system is pre-installed so that workers can operate simply. More difficult sewing stages such as bag sewing will use a pre-programmed sewing system for easy and precise operation. Although the machinery is modern, thanks to the installation of inverters, it helps save 30-40% of electricity compared to traditional equipment. In addition to saving electricity, inverters also have many advantages that are essential for all production lines. It helps reduce line maintenance costs, contributing to increasing the life of production equipment.
In addition, in the summer, in the factories, the company uses LED lighting bulbs, ventilation fan systems to create cool air; the office block often sets the air conditioner to cool at 26-28 degrees Celsius and automatically turns off. The company also builds regulations on economical electricity use so that all staff and workers must strictly follow. "In addition to economical electricity use, in the near future, the unit will install solar energy systems on all factory roofs for lighting systems and small capacity machines," said the company's production director Do Ngoc Ngoan.
Thuan Loi Private Enterprise in Thuc Khang Commune specializes in providing agricultural machinery and auxiliary mechanical products. Each month, this enterprise has to pay about 150 million VND for electricity. From 2019 to now, the unit has put the CNC machine system into use to replace 100% of mechanical lathes, with an investment of about 300 million VND/machine. Thanks to that, the enterprise saves about 15% of electricity consumption. In addition, in the factory area, the unit also installed all LED bulbs, the roof uses foam to reduce heat and cool the factory... "Every year, we sign a load adjustment program with Binh Giang Electricity, limiting production during peak hours to reduce electricity consumption. The unit also regularly propagates to cadres and workers to save electricity," said the director of the enterprise, Pham Quang Thoi.
Promote propaganda
Currently, Binh Giang Electricity has 40,343 electricity customers, including 179 specialized customers. About 46.8% of electricity consumption in the area is used in the industrial sector.

Every year, Binh Giang Power Company signs a load adjustment program with customers whose consumption reaches more than 1 million kWh/year. In 2023, the unit signed a program to use electricity at no more than the maximum capacity during peak hours with 18 large customers.
“The unit grasps production plans and electricity demand of customers to have a plan to forecast the load and plan appropriate power supply. Thereby, promptly propagandize and remind businesses that use beyond the capacity threshold to have saving solutions. Strengthen propaganda and mobilize businesses to apply modern equipment, arrange reasonable shifts to reduce the load on the power grid system, contributing to saving electricity and reducing production costs,” said Mr. Nguyen Quang Dan, Deputy Director of Binh Giang Electricity.
With many solutions as above, in 2023, the whole district saved 5.4 million kWh of electricity, of which the industry - service sector saved about 60%. Binh Giang is a typical unit of the province in saving electricity in the business sector.
