The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River shaped like a water coconut leaf, connecting District 1 and Thu Duc City, will start construction in early 2025 with a cost of about VND1,000 billion sponsored by Nutifood.
The information was announced at the signing ceremony of the agreement to sponsor the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River between the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company on the morning of December 4.
Accordingly, the enterprise will finance the entire construction cost of the project according to the policy, planning, and design approved by the city. The project is expected to start construction in early 2025.

The 500m long pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River starts from Bach Dang wharf park, the foot of the bridge is the riverside park and outside the boundary of area A - south of the central square of Thu Thiem urban area. In addition to serving pedestrians, the bridge also has lanes for bicycles and people with disabilities. The bridge is also designed to accommodate ambulances in case of emergencies.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport Tran Quang Lam said the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River is the largest project in the country to date funded by a business.

The sponsor's representative, Mr. Tran Bao Minh, Vice Chairman of Nutifood's Board of Directors, said this is a gift of gratitude to the city's people who have helped the business grow from a small unit to the big brand it is today.
At the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai said that the city always allocates budget for urban infrastructure development. However, due to limited resources, not meeting all the needs, mobilizing from society is something that the city persistently and regularly does. Enterprises sponsoring the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the two banks of the Saigon River is a meaningful work for the economic and social development of the city.
