On February 8th, the "27 Flavors of Dien Bien Cuisine" food festival took place in Dien Bien province. The festival featured the participation of 20 restaurants, homestays, and typical food businesses in the province.
The event, organized by the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to honor the traditional culinary cultural values that have been nurtured through generations of ethnic groups in the area.

The event also serves as an opportunity to promote the image of Dien Bien - a destination rich in identity, friendly, hospitable, where culinary culture is closely linked to tourism experiences, economic development, and sustainable livelihoods of ethnic communities in the far west of the country.

Mr. Tran Hai Ha, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province, said: "This is an important cultural and tourism event, aiming to honor the unique values of traditional cuisine, distilled from the history, nature, and folk knowledge of the ethnic communities in the province. Through the festival, the image of the friendly and culturally rich land and people of Dien Bien - Northwest Vietnam will continue to be widely promoted to the people and tourists from near and far."

This year's festival brings together 27 typical culinary flavors, representing the diversity and richness of local culinary culture. Each dish carries its own story, vividly reflecting the life, customs, traditions, and cultural identity of the ethnic groups of Dien Bien over many generations.

The highlight of the festival is the cooking demonstrations, the presentation of a 27-dish feast, and the culinary showcase, all directly performed by artisans, chefs, and food service businesses in the province. Through each stage of preparation, the cultural values of Dien Bien cuisine are vividly recreated, contributing to spreading the essence of Dien Bien's culinary traditions to a wider audience.

The "27 Flavors of Dien Bien Cuisine" Food Festival is not only a space for gathering, showcasing, and enjoying culinary delights, but also an opportunity to connect artisans, chefs, and tourism service businesses. Through this, it contributes to improving the quality of local tourism products, aiming for sustainable development linked to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values.
The traditional feast of Dien Bien people is not only for enjoyment, but also a symbol of togetherness, hospitality, and the aspiration for prosperity and peace. Through it, the message is conveyed: "Cuisine is not only a heritage but also a resource for developing tourism and the local economy." At the same time, it serves as an effective bridge in promoting the image of the locality, attracting domestic and international tourists to explore, experience, and connect with this heroic historical land in the far west of the country.
