Some dishes made from mango are very eye-catching.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien (Cao Lanh city) said that the new thing here is that mangoes have been processed into delicious and nutritious cakes and drinks.
"I hope Dong Thap mango will continue to grow with practical activities like this," said Ms. Lien.
Mr. Dao Minh Canh (Dong Thap) said: "Dong Thap mango has long been famous, now with this additional activity it will bring it closer to the people.
On National Day September 2 this year, Cao Lanh city organized a mango food street to help the city become more joyful.
Increase value from new products
Setting up a stall on the mango food street, Ms. Quang Nhu Thuy (Ward 1, Cao Lanh City) sells many dishes, of which the most eye-catching is the mango banh bao with its golden color.

She said that in order to make dumplings from mango, she had previously received training and technical support from relevant units.
After that, she and her family researched to make mango dumplings that no longer had a sour taste but still retained the characteristic mango flavor of Dong Thap province.
Ms. Thuy's mango dumpling stall attracts a lot of customers.
Visitors felt "strange" and bought some to try. The special thing about the mango dumpling is that the filling is made of mango sauce, not meat like regular dumplings.
"In the past few days, we've sold a few hundred each day, but it's not enough. If we sell one, it costs 15,000 VND, but if we sell a combo of two, it only costs 25,000 VND.
"I sell mainly based on quantity, and conveniently promote new dishes to visitors when they stop by the mango food street," Ms. Thuy added.
Mangoes are found to contain many vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, E, and minerals such as biotin, carotene, pantothenic acid, niacin, folacin, biotin, iron, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, copper, magnesium, zinc, selenium...
Therefore, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Phuong (Ward 1, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province) always finds ways to make her milk tea products more nutritious and different than before by making mango jelly.

She said that making mango jelly is similar to the milk tea jelly she made before, but the advantage of mango jelly is that it takes advantage of locally available ingredients, so it costs less than before.

"Since the mango food street was opened, sales have doubled compared to before. Revenue has reached 10 - 12 million VND/day," Ms. Phuong added.
Mr. Le Nguyen Hai Dang (Tan Thuan Tay commune, Cao Lanh city) said that normally, each fresh mango has a maximum shelf life of 25 days. But when processed, the shelf life is longer, up to half a year.

He said that to increase value as well as preserve for a long time, especially during peak harvest time, the facility has invested in technology to create dried mango products.
Normally, about 2 kilos of fresh mango will produce 150 grams of dried mango. Each box costs 80,000 VND, but the production facility still cannot deliver enough to customers.
"At its peak, Cat Chu mangoes cost about 20,000 VND/kg. Once processed, their value doubles," said Mr. Dang.
Contribute to promoting key industries
Mango is one of the five key products in the agricultural restructuring project of Dong Thap province.
In recent years, the province's mango brand has not only become famous domestically but has also reached out to the world market, penetrating demanding markets such as Europe, the United States, etc.
In 2022, the export value of Dong Thap mango industry is estimated to reach about 2,680 billion VND.
Dong Thap currently has about 14,000 hectares of mango. Gardeners are gradually using organic fertilizers and fruit bags, reducing the use of pesticides as well as implementing seasonal flowering, fruiting all year round.

The province has 9 facilities that have registered packaging facility codes; 33 organizations and individuals have been granted VietGAP certification with 353 hectares.
