On the morning of July 15, Cong Phuong's team officially announced central defender Tran Quang Thinh as the fourth new player for the 2025-2026 season. Previously, Quang Thinh played for Nam Dinh Club in the 2024-2025 V-League but only appeared twice from the bench, ending a season that did not go as expected.

The central defender, born in 2001, was the leader of the Vietnam U23 team's defense and contributed greatly to the championship of the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Cambodia, a tournament in which the Vietnamese youth team won thanks to reinforcements from Vietnam in the middle of the tournament. However, the career of this 1m79 tall player has not achieved the strong progress as expected.

Joining Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club, currently playing in the First Division, Quang Thinh will have more opportunities to play and demonstrate his ability, also promising to strengthen the defense of the Southeast team, aiming for promotion to the V-League.

Before Quang Thinh, the Southeast representative also recruited three experienced rookies including midfielder Luong Xuan Truong (30 years old), defender Duong Van Khoa (31 years old) and Tran Trong Hieu (29 years old).

Binh Phuoc is expected to announce other contracts in the near future, such as Minh Vuong, Le Van Son (HAGL) and especially head coach Nguyen Viet Thang.

In the 2024-2025 season, Binh Phuoc Club won the runner-up position and participated in the play-off match for a ticket to the V-League, but unfortunately lost 0-2 to Da Nang at Thong Nhat Stadium at the end of June.

Notably, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club plans to change its name to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club and compete at Dong Nai Stadium from the 2025-2026 season, after a meeting on the afternoon of July 14.

After the merger, the team also proposed to invest in upgrading Dong Nai Stadium to serve the audience and make it their home stadium, and proposed to keep Binh Phuoc Stadium as a training ground for the club's football academy.
