Recently, the Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 2 has increased inspection, control and handling of violations of the law in forest management, protection and fire prevention and fighting in mountainous districts.

Identifying the task of inspecting and controlling forest product smuggling and forest security in 11 mountainous districts as a key task, the Forest Protection and Prevention Team No. 2 has effectively coordinated with functional forces to control forest security at the root; combat forest product smuggling on the Ho Chi Minh road, national highways, and provincial roads in mountainous areas. In addition, directing forest rangers to actively stay close to the grassroots, grasp the management area, organize information planting, regularly monitor subjects of illegal exploitation, trading, transportation, business, and processing of forest products to propose to the unit leaders to coordinate with local forest rangers to organize inspections, prevent, and promptly handle cases according to the provisions of law.

Build a widespread information network in areas with abundant forest resources, forest product trading points, and key forest product transportation routes such as Thuong Xuan, Nhu Xuan, Lang Chanh, Quan Son, Quan Hoa, Ba Thuoc, etc., thereby promptly grasping the situation and methods of operation of subjects specializing in illegal exploitation, trading, buying, selling, and transporting of forest products to have timely solutions.

Forest rangers of the Forest Protection and Prevention Team No. 2 coordinate with functional forces to strengthen patrolling, control, detect violations of the Forestry Law, and promptly handle them according to regulations.

Since the beginning of the year, the Forest Protection and Prevention Team No. 2 has coordinated with forest rangers in mountainous districts to inspect, detect, arrest and hand over for handling a total of 10 cases of violations of the Forestry Law, confiscating 1,815m3 of wood; 595kg of roots, seizing 1 chainsaw; and paying the State budget 56.7 million VND.

In addition, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 2 has organized 8 training sessions on repairing and maintaining tools, machinery and forest fire fighting equipment, combined with training and coaching on skills in operating and using fire prevention and fighting machinery and equipment. Currently, 100% of the force in the unit is proficient in using fire prevention and fighting equipment. Proactively and ready in terms of force, means, tools, machinery and equipment to effectively participate in forest fire fighting when mobilized and requested for support.

The unit's forest rangers are maintaining equipment and machinery to be ready to carry out forest fire fighting tasks.

Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy, Captain of the KLCD & PCCCR Team No. 2, said: In the past time, we have coordinated and supported the mountainous forest rangers to maintain stable forest security at the root. Effectively carry out the fight against forest product smuggling and always ensure the availability of forces, vehicles, tools, and machinery ready to participate in effective PCCCR when mobilized.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to do a good job of inspecting and controlling against forest product smuggling; coordinate with forest rangers and forest owners to focus on inspecting and controlling forest areas that are still rich in resources, key areas at risk of deforestation and illegal exploitation of forest products; regularly patrol and check the origin of forest products on the Ho Chi Minh road, national highways, and provincial roads to promptly prevent and handle acts of illegal trading and transportation of forest products in mountainous districts. Proactively infiltrate and collect information in areas inside and outside the province to have plans to prevent, inspect, arrest and promptly handle violations of the Forestry Law. Coordinate with functional forces to mobilize people, vehicles, and equipment to prevent and promptly respond to forest fires... Thereby, contributing to protecting forest resources, promoting the socio -economic development of the western districts of Thanh Hoa.
