Vietnam reaches the final for the first time, China shines.

DIFF 2025 concluded with what was considered the "hottest fireworks competition in history," as the host team Vietnam - Z121 Vina Pyrotech (under the Ministry of National Defense ) - participated in the final round for the first time, facing off against Jiangxi Yangfeng - the reigning runner-up of DIFF 2024 and also a "golden face" of the world fireworks industry.

From midday, thousands of locals and tourists flocked to the roads along the Han River, "spreading out mats to reserve spots" to secure the best vantage points for watching the fireworks. By 5 PM, traffic heading towards the fireworks display area was packed with people. The grandstands were full from early on, and the bridges and embankments were crowded with people.

The grand finale's appeal also stemmed from the musical extravaganza featuring renowned artists such as My Tam, Tung Duong, Huong Tram... along with hundreds of dancers on a spectacular floating stage with elaborate sound and lighting systems.

And the fireworks did not disappoint the audience. Team Z121 opened with an emotional performance, using more than 7,000 fireworks blended with carefully selected music such as "Centuries," "Fireworks," "Vietnamese Spirit," "Aspiration for Peace," etc.

Each melody, each burst of fireworks, was like a chapter telling the story of Vietnam's aspirations for development, love of peace, and national identity. The effects of the fireworks—blossoming, spiraling, cascading—immersed the entire audience in a space that was both visually stunning and deeply moving.

Not to be outdone, Jiangxi Yangfeng showcased international class with a high-tech performance themed "Da Nang - A Shining Gem, The City of the Future." They opened with "The Final Countdown," incorporating a series of symmetrical circular effects, followed by a sequence of electronically synchronized fireworks displays: "Trying All" and "Legacy of Six."

In particular, the cultural fusion was subtly showcased when the Vietnamese song "Bac Bling" was incorporated into the performance. The finale, "Mountain Call," along with gold and silver fireworks, made the entire Han River seem to burst into flames.

After incredibly difficult moments in making the decision, the judging panel announced that the Jiangxi Yangfeng team (China) officially won the DIFF 2025 championship, with a prize of 20,000 USD. The Z121 fireworks team (Vietnam) received the runner-up prize along with a reward of 10,000 USD - a historic and proud achievement.

In addition, three supplementary awards worth $5,000 each were also presented: the "Innovation" award went to Macedos Pirotecnia (Portugal), the "Audience Favorite" award went to Da Nang (Vietnam), and the "Promising" award went to Martarello Group SLR (Italy).

"Starry Sky" arrives, the stands erupt with emotion.

More than just a fireworks display, the DIFF 2025 final night was also a spectacular artistic feast featuring top stars.

My Tam – the "brown-haired nightingale" – set the audience ablaze with her self-composed song "The Light." Tung Duong presented "Hope," an artistic manifesto about faith and light. Huong Tram returned to the stage with two international hits, "When You Believe" and "Never Enough," in a fresh and powerful new style.

The highlight was when Tung Duong and Huong Tram sang "Hoa Mat Troi" (Sunflower) as a duet, overwhelming the audience with emotion. In addition, the duo Nguyen Tran Trung Quan and Denis Dang performed "Hoa Lien" for the first time, bringing a youthful and romantic touch to the grand artistic event.

With over 10,000 live spectators and millions more watching on television and social media, the DIFF 2025 final night affirmed the irreplaceable position of this festival in Vietnam's cultural and tourism life.

Beyond being just an entertainment event, DIFF 2025 also brings positive results for Da Nang's economy and tourism. According to statistics, during the final period alone, Da Nang welcomed nearly 98,000 visitors, a 6.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, international visitors increased by 81% and domestic visitors by 18%. Occupancy rates at beachfront and city center hotels reached almost 100%.

Da Nang International Airport recorded 171 domestic and international flights on July 11th – a record number, far exceeding the same period last year. The Han River cruise ships also reached 90% capacity for viewing the fireworks display.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, stated: "In the next five years, Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) will receive larger-scale investment, becoming a new driving force for the city's night-time economy, tourism, and brand. This direction aligns with Da Nang's vision for green, smart, and modern development, positioning its cultural brand on the international map."

With its grand finale described as a symphony of light, sound, and emotion, DIFF 2025 left a strong impression not only because of its championship-winning fireworks display, but also because of its artistic spirit, cultural connection, and enduring appeal.

Da Nang has once again proven that it is not only a city of bridges and blue seas, but also the capital of dreams shining brightly in the night sky.
