The themes for the six competition nights were: "Nature," "Heritage," "Culture," "Creativity," "Vision," and "Connected Horizons."
According to the schedule, the competition on the evening of May 30th, with the theme "Nature," will be between the Da Nang team from Vietnam and the Chinese team.
The evening of June 6th was themed "Heritage," featuring performances by France and the Z121 Vina Pyrotech team from Vietnam.
The evening of June 13th, themed "Culture," will feature performances from Japan and Italy. The evening of June 20th, themed "Creativity," will be a competition between Germany and Macau (China). The evening of June 27th, themed "Vision," will showcase performances by Australia and Portugal.
The final night took place on July 11th with the theme "Connecting Horizons," where the two best teams competed for the DIFF 2026 championship.
The organizers stated that the themes were structured as a continuous storytelling journey about Da Nang's nature, heritage, culture, and development aspirations during a period of spatial expansion and enhanced regional connectivity.
DIFF 2026 continues to apply many modern performance technologies such as Sky AR, LED laser systems on the Han River, and real-time sound technology, creating a multi-sensory experience for the audience.
The fireworks display area is located at Han River Port, while the main stage and grandstands are situated on Tran Hung Dao Street, opposite the fireworks display point.
Besides the ticketed viewing area, visitors can watch the fireworks from many locations along both banks of the Han River, such as Bach Dang Street, APEC Park, Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, or from cafes, restaurants, and hotels along the river.
To secure a good viewing spot, visitors should arrive 2-3 hours early, especially on weekend nights and the final night, due to the large crowds in the center. Locals and tourists should also prioritize using public transportation, follow traffic flow instructions from authorities, and avoid bringing bulky items into crowded areas.
In case of thunderstorms, visitors should monitor updates from the organizers to proactively plan their schedules and ensure their safety while participating in the festival.
