Vietnamese delegation attends the Maritime Dialogue in Tokyo. |
The head of the Japanese delegation is Mr. Kashiwabara Yutaka, Deputy Director General of the Southeast and Southwest Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The head of the Vietnamese delegation is Mr. Tran Van Thuy, Deputy Head of the National Border Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Within the framework of the Dialogue, the two sides exchanged views on the importance of order in seas and oceans based on international law, especially the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The two sides also discussed other maritime issues of mutual concern, including marine environmental protection policies, as well as areas with potential for future cooperation in line with the needs and interests of both sides. The two sides agreed to maintain a regular maritime dialogue in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
