Indonesia U23 Captain: 'We will be the new kings of Southeast Asia'

After defeating Thailand U23 in the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Indonesia, captain Kadek Arel affirmed that the team from the archipelago will become the "new king" of the region.

"Thailand may be the current king of Southeast Asia, but we are the future kings," Indonesia U23 captain Kadek Arel declared enthusiastically after the thrilling semi-final match against Thailand U23 on the evening of July 25.

At Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, U23 Indonesia and U23 Thailand played 120 minutes of intense competition with a 1-1 draw. The match had to be decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. U23 Indonesia will face U23 Vietnam in the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
