Vietnam futsal team won 5-0 against Solomon team

In terms of the current world futsal rankings, the Solomon Islands futsal team is ranked 54th, 15 places lower than the Vietnam futsal team. However, the futsal representative from Oceania has qualified for the Futsal World Cup four times in a row, from 2008 to 2021.

Facing a weaker opponent, the Vietnamese futsal team took to the field with a lineup that included many new players. Coach Diego Giustozzi is looking to review the squad and make more detailed assessments of the new players to finalize the list for the upcoming overseas training trip.

After that, the appearance of Nguyen Minh Tri and Tran Van Vu on the field helped the Vietnamese futsal team play better and have more dangerous opportunities. Meanwhile, Chau Doan Phat was also a prominent player with impressive long-range shots. In the 16th minute, Chau Doan Phat left his mark with a signature move to break the deadlock. From the left wing, Doan Phat turned the ball inside and then unleashed a tricky low shot to open the score for the Vietnamese futsal team.

In the 12th minute of the second half, Nguyen Tran Duy dribbled from the right wing into the middle and then fired a powerful shot into the Solomon net, doubling the gap for the Vietnamese futsal team. Excited after taking a 2-goal lead, the Vietnamese futsal team scored 3 more goals before the match ended.

Nguyen Thinh Phat scored with a one-touch finish from the edge of the box, then Ngoc Linh had a chance to face and skillfully change the ball to beat the opposing goalkeeper. Finally, goalkeeper Huu Phuc ended his impressive day with a goal from home, when the opponent was playing power-play. In the end, the Vietnamese futsal team won 5-0 against the Solomon team.

At 5pm tomorrow (May 26), the Vietnam futsal team will play the second leg against the Solomon futsal team. The match will continue at Thai Son Nam Stadium, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City.
