“That is a specialized item that Vietnam does not have a stick fighting movement. This sport has just appeared at the 30th SEA Games and now in Cambodia, but normally there is no competition. Therefore, this type of equipment is not popular in the domestic market. We still have a source to buy online quite quickly, but that way we cannot settle the payment. The center reported to us that they have done their best,” the leader of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training added.

The General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the National Sports Training Center are trying to get funding for this sport to best support athletes.

Arnis was introduced by the host country Cambodia into the competition program of the 32nd SEA Games. This is a special sport, a strength of the host. The Vietnamese Arnis team was established based on traditional martial arts athletes. Recently, the Arnis team won 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals at the pre-SEA Games 32 tournament.
