In the semi-finals of the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Open, the Vietnam Police II team had an impressive performance when they overcame their fateful opponent Thailand with a convincing 2-1 victory.
Right from the first minutes, the match was played with great intensity. CAND Vietnam II sent out their strongest lineup with notable names such as Tien Thanh, Dinh Tung, Duc Nam and Nhu Tuan. In the 13th minute, from a cross by Mai Tien Thanh, Duc Nam headed in with a dangerous header to open the score for the home team.
Not accepting being outplayed, Thailand rose strongly and scored an equalizer in the 34th minute after a corner kick, when defender Songkran jumped high to head the ball into the net of Vietnam II, bringing the match back to the starting line. The score of 1-1 ended a dramatic first half.

In the second half, CAND Vietnam II increased the speed and changed tactics to increase the pressure. In the 50th minute, Duc Nam had an inaccurate tackle in the penalty area, but immediately after, Nhu Tuan was there at the right time to successfully kick the ball from a narrow angle, raising the score to 2-1. Although they did not score another goal, the home team controlled the game well, preserving the result until the final whistle.

In the other semi-final, the match between Cambodia and Timor Leste ended in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. In the penalty shootout, Cambodia showed more courage when they won a thrilling 11-10 victory to advance to the final.
The final match between Vietnam Police II and Cambodian National Police will take place at 7:00 p.m. on July 15 at Hang Day Stadium.
