Tien Hai Border Guard Stationeducates revolutionary movements for officers and soldiers
Tien Hai Border Guard Station is stationed at Hon Doc, Tien Hai island commune, about 30km from Ha Tien ward by sea, with historical waters bordering Cambodia. Over the years, the socio -economic situation and people's lives here have been increasingly improved. However, travel conditions, weather, climate and infrastructure are still difficult, affecting the performance of the troops' tasks.
Lieutenant Colonel Son Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of Tien Hai Border Guard Station, said that despite many difficulties, the unit is always ready to receive and complete assigned tasks well. In 2025, the unit was chosen as a model for building a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary, typical" unit. Immediately after receiving the task, the Party Committee and the Command of Tien Hai Border Guard Station thoroughly grasped and synchronously, comprehensively, and in-depthly implemented the contents of building a strong unit. The unit is determined to fulfill the standards of politics , force organization, training, combat readiness, regular construction, discipline management, logistics, technology, and finance.
“Officers and soldiers actively compete and strive to fulfill their assigned duties and tasks. Political mettle, awareness of law enforcement, discipline, regulations and rules of the unit, as well as the exemplary spirit of officers and party members are all implemented seriously and with quality. The leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party committee and organization are increasingly improved. Combat readiness work is maintained regularly and in a disciplined manner,” shared Lieutenant Colonel Son Trung Hieu.
One of the bright spots at Tien Hai Border Guard Station is that the work of building a regular system has many positive changes. Working methods, working and living regimes, etiquette, military style, sense of discipline and law compliance are increasingly becoming regular. Internal order is arranged neatly and tidily, signs and ropes are supplemented and uniformly arranged.
The first impression when visiting the unit is the two rows of yellow trumpet trees in front of the gate, neatly trimmed, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape. The barracks system is invested in a spacious and orderly manner. Together with my teammates cleaning the barracks, Private Vo Hoang Huy shared: “I am from the mainland, after joining the army, I was assigned to the sea and island areas. During the first days of patrolling, I suffered from seasickness, but gradually I got used to it and was determined to complete the task well with my teammates. In addition to training, patrolling, and guarding, I also work with my brothers to clean the barracks, take care of the bonsai trees, clean the signs... I consider the unit as my home, so I always want to contribute to making that home more and more beautiful.”
As for soldier Tien Tu, a Khmer ethnic from Giang Thanh commune, the military environment has helped him mature significantly since joining the army. “Good discipline, solidarity among comrades, and mutual support at work are the beauty of the army. This will be a great lesson that will follow me throughout my life. After being discharged from the army and returning to my hometown, I will always be proud and preserve the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers,” said Tu.
In recent times, Tien Hai Border Guard Station has strictly maintained combat readiness regimes; closely coordinated with local authorities in maintaining political security and social order and safety in the assigned areas. The unit has always created prestige and trust among the people. Mr. Pham Hong Dung (residing in Hon Tre hamlet, Tien Hai commune) said: “Officers and soldiers of Tien Hai Border Guard Station not only propagate and mobilize people to comply with the law, but are also ready to help people in natural disasters and calamities. Boats in distress during storms, houses collapsing, roofs blowing off... are all supported promptly by the officers. The people here love and trust the border guards very much.”
