On July 27, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, photographer Nguyen A organized an exchange and introduced two photo books celebrating 50 years - Vietnam's Strength and City of Peace - Our City.
Attending the program were comrades: Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; along with a number of former prisoners of Con Dao and relatives, friends and colleagues of NSNA Nguyen A.
Four months ago, also at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, artist Nguyen A introduced the photo book Rising to Nu Village , recording the miraculous revival of Nu village people after storm Yagi .
With tireless work and creativity, not long after that, Nguyen A continued to introduce to the public two 50-year photo books - Vietnam's Strength and City of Peace - Our City .
Through these two photo books, the public has the opportunity to remember and relive the heroic past of our ancestors' generation as well as look back at the atmosphere of the recent April 30th Great Festival.
At 50 Years - The Power of Vietnam , NSNA Nguyen A honors the previous generations who have contributed to the country, and at the same time recognizes the efforts of young people during the days of practice for the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
And Peace City - Our City is like a tribute to the beloved city where he was born and raised.
There, readers will see familiar images such as Ben Thanh Market, City Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral... appearing vividly, bearing the appearance of a peaceful city, rising in a new era, an era of development, towards good values.
In particular, at the program, attendees had the opportunity to listen to Hero of the People's Armed Forces - Colonel Tu De and Lieutenant Colonel Truong Thanh Binh, Commander of Regiment 917, Division 370, share about the unforgettable days when both were pilots in two different periods: one in wartime and the other in peacetime.
With the exchange and sharing of Dr. Ly Thi Mai, Deputy Director of the Institute of Vietnamese Costume Research and businessman Pham Gia Chi Bao, Director of the Museum of Ceramics of the Nation's Construction Period, the image of a dynamic, bustling and culturally and historically rich Ho Chi Minh City was shown.
On the occasion of the launch of two photo books 50 years - Vietnam's Strength and Peaceful City - Our City , NSNA Nguyen A organized an exhibition of images from the books.
The exhibition is on display at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, lasting from now until July 29.
