The topic of the history of the National Assembly has been explored in depth, from multiple perspectives, and with rich emotion by the press. The works submitted to the 4th Dien Hong Award - 2026 vividly demonstrate this. Towards the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (1946 - 2026), a series of works delve into the core values distilled from history. This includes the journey from the sacred Tan Trao oath to the modern, professional National Assembly, embodying the strength of the rule of law.

In that context, the radio program "From the Tan Trao Oath to the Era of Rule of Law - 80 Years of Faith and Aspiration" ( Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio, and Television) takes the public back to the Capital of the Liberation Zone - the Capital of the Resistance, where the Tan Trao National Congress, the predecessor of the Vietnamese National Assembly, was born. Then, it continues the long strides of four decades of Renovation and the powerful movement from the new Constitution with its two-tiered local government model.

Sharing her thoughts on the project, Ms. Hoang Thi Minh Phuong, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minority Radio and Television Department of Tuyen Quang Province, said that the work conveys a message about the faith, aspirations, and will for development of the Vietnamese people, a persistent continuation from the oath of independence at Tan Trao communal house to the goal of building a state of the people, by the people, and for the people in the new era. “The message we want to convey is faith. Faith from the early days of nation-building, forged through two protracted wars of resistance. Now, it is faith in the core values of the rule of law and democracy, where elected representatives truly bear the responsibility of supervising, criticizing, and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people,” journalist Hoang Thi Minh Phuong expressed.

The series " 80 Years of the Vietnamese National Assembly - Time and the Path " (Democracy and Law Magazine) delves into the theoretical aspects and historical depth. According to Dr. Hoang Thi Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Democracy and Law Magazine, the work is structured along the thematic lines of political commentary, history, and law, using time as the historical axis and the path as the ideological axis, reflecting the 80-year journey of the National Assembly steadfastly fulfilling its mission: representing the people, serving the people, and accompanying the development of the country.

“Reflecting on that journey doesn't just stop at reviewing milestones or achievements, but requires a profound approach, clarifying the consistent ideological, legal, and political path of the National Assembly over time. Stemming from that requirement, the work, as a journalistic project, comprehensively portrays the National Assembly's activities in constitutional and legislative aspects, decision-making on important national issues, and supreme oversight, while highlighting the core value throughout: the National Assembly for the people,” said Dr. Hoang Thi Lan.

Sharing the same sentiment of pride, many works portray the National Assembly through different periods with unique perspectives. For example, the series "National Assembly Supervision - 80 Years of Accompanying and Creating Development " (People's Representatives Newspaper) delves into supervisory activities from 1946, when the First National Assembly was established, through each historical period, promptly resolving difficulties, obstacles, and "bottlenecks" under the leadership of the Party, for the benefit of the people. The documentary film "80 Years - An Everlasting Source " (Dak Lak Newspaper and Radio, Television) tells the story of a family with three generations and four National Assembly representatives, spanning from the First to the Fifteenth National Assembly. Through this, it affirms that, over the past 80 years, the National Assembly has been a stream of faith and responsibility, passed down from generation to generation, like an unbroken source.

Towards the ultimate goal

In many winning entries of the 4th Dien Hong Award, the 15th National Assembly was affirmed as a special term with unprecedented decisions and institutional breakthroughs to unlock resources. The series "15th National Assembly: A Term of '7 Dares' and '3 Decisions'" (People's Army Newspaper) highlights the spirit and mindset of a term full of change but also full of significant achievements. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, emphasized that over the past 80 years, the development path of the Vietnamese National Assembly has been a journey of steadfastness, creativity, and continuous innovation. The series records opinions from experts, National Assembly delegates, voters, and the people to affirm that, from that glorious historical foundation, the 15th National Assembly clearly demonstrated the spirit of 7 dares : dare to think - dare to speak - dare to act - dare to take responsibility - dare to innovate and create - dare to confront difficulties and challenges - dare to act for the common good. Along with that comes the spirit of three decisive actions : determination, decisiveness, and commitment to action.

This spirit is also vividly expressed through the theme "Reorganizing the Nation," which has been explored in many works. These are articles reflecting the process of reorganizing administrative units and creating new impetus for development. According to Kieu Thanh Huong, Deputy Head of the Resident Correspondent Management Board of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the series of articles "Reorganizing the Nation, Creating Impetus for National Development" was undertaken in the context of localities preparing to operate the new administrative apparatus under the two-tiered local government model from July 1, 2025 .

"The authors' highlight is that they have affirmed the correctness of this policy. Despite difficulties and obstacles, the practical experience from innovative models and approaches in various localities has proven that when institutional constraints are removed, dynamic regions will be formed, promoting regional linkages and sustainable development," journalist Kieu Thanh Huong shared.
