Despite the rather hot weather from early morning during this year's September 2nd holiday, the crowds flocking to Ba Dinh Square to queue at President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum continued to grow longer.

By nearly 11 a.m. today, a long line of people was still stretching from Ngoc Ha Street, patiently waiting for their turn to enter the mausoleum to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

To arrive at President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum on time, Ms. Cam Tu's family (from Vinh Phuc province) set off at 5 am and waited in line.

"For me, this is an opportunity to educate my children about their roots, learn about the nation's history, and show their respect for President Ho Chi Minh. That's why I took my two children to visit his mausoleum on the first day of the holiday. I hope that through meaningful activities like this, I can help nurture my children's patriotism," Ms. Tu confided.

As for Ngoc Lan (a first-year student), this is the second time this Gen Z girl has visited Ba Dinh Square and the mausoleum to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh. Lan remembers her first visit to the capital to see the mausoleum was when she was in third grade, and she was filled with excitement and anticipation.

"Coming here today, I'm no longer a child, but the feeling is just as strong as the first time I came to President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum. Although the weather is quite hot today, I, like the other ladies and gentlemen around me, am all happy and eagerly waiting for our turn to enter the mausoleum to visit President Ho Chi Minh on this special occasion," Lan shared.

This year's National Day holiday lasts four days, from August 31st to September 3rd. It is expected that the crowds visiting President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum will continue to be large in the following days.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism announced that on September 2nd, it will provide drinking water, milk, and bread for locals and tourists visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. An estimated 28,000 gift packages are expected to be distributed on this occasion.
