Many explosives left over from the war were discovered in Dong Ha City on May 7 - Photo: MAG VN
Accordingly, during the process of clearing cluster bombs in the contaminated area in Ward 3, Dong Ha City on May 7, the MAG Vietnam Technical Team discovered an ammunition bunker with 43 explosives. All of these explosives were only 5 cm below the ground.
After assessing the safety conditions for movement, MAG technical staff transported all of these explosives to a controlled detonation area and safely destroyed them during the day.
This discovery continues to show that post-war bombs, mines and explosives still remain in many residential areas and people's productive land in the central provinces of Vietnam.
People are advised to absolutely not approach, move or arbitrarily handle objects suspected to be bombs or mines, but must immediately report them to the authorities or the bomb disposal team.
