This direction not only helps to improve competitiveness and expand export markets but also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, moving towards the net zero target.
Businesses reduce emissions
From factory roofs, production lines, input materials to output waste, the “green” factor is becoming a survival strategy for many businesses. They have proactively applied investment and management solutions to meet international market requirements and sustainable development.

Mr. Ra Yong Zoo, representative of HI KNIT Co., Ltd. (Phuoc An commune, Dong Nai province), said: In the textile and garment industry, sustainable production and the use of renewable energy are mandatory conditions to maintain orders from foreign partners. Therefore, the company has invested in a solar power system on the factory roof, both meeting customer requirements and reducing electricity costs, thereby lowering product prices and contributing to the implementation of the net zero 2050 target according to Vietnam's international commitments.
“Thanks to the combination of solar power and grid power, the factory significantly saves operating costs, maintains orders even in difficult times, generates hundreds of billions of VND in revenue each year, ensures jobs for thousands of workers and makes a large contribution to the budget,” said Mr. Ra Yong Zoo. Mr. Zoo further emphasized: If renewable energy is not used, businesses may lose contracts or even have to stop production, leading to many consequences for workers and the province’s investment environment.
Also aiming for green production, Saitex International Dong Nai Co., Ltd. (Long Binh ward, Dong Nai province) not only uses renewable energy but also chooses environmentally friendly materials, recycling most of the waste from production.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Kim Oanh, Head of the company's Department of Occupational Safety and Health and Sustainable Development, said: The fabric fibers and dyes are all environmentally friendly. The company reuses almost 100% of its wastewater, recycles scraps into useful products, and utilizes the heat from the factory to dry clothes.
Many large investors such as Nestlé, SMC, Lixil, CP, Schaeffler, Ajinomoto, Cargill... are developing renewable energy, innovating technology, recycling waste, and improving packaging, minimizing difficult-to-recycle materials, replacing them with easily degradable or recyclable products; and have policies to support packaging recycling. These solutions both meet the requirements of partners and enhance brand reputation, creating competitive advantages in the global supply chain.
Contribute to the realization of net zero goals
Dong Nai has set a net zero target by 2050, with industrial production being one of the seven key areas for emission reduction. To realise this target, the province has issued an Action Plan on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the 2022-2030 period; annually organizes training courses to help businesses use energy economically and efficiently; encourages technological innovation to reduce pollution; and establishes a Green Growth Steering Committee to research, propose solutions and appraise related projects.
As a result, more and more businesses are investing in renewable energy and technology to save electricity costs and reduce emissions, recycle waste and use environmentally friendly materials. At businesses that have implemented it, it shows that renewable energy helps reduce CO₂, stabilize production costs; circular waste management reduces environmental pressure, while enhancing the brand, and the output market of businesses is increasingly expanding. Green transformation and economic growth go hand in hand.
Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said: In addition to the efforts of enterprises, the province is implementing many support policies such as creating conditions for the implementation of renewable energy projects, encouraging circular economy and industrial symbiosis, and piloting green and ecological industrial park models. This is an important driving force for enterprises to accelerate the green transformation process. Particularly, new industrial parks must meet the requirements of environmental protection and the province's greenhouse gas emission reduction target.
Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha, when working with enterprises relocating to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, said: For many years, Dong Nai has applied selective investment attraction. Prioritizing high-tech, less labor-intensive and environmentally friendly projects to ensure sustainable growth. The province especially encourages enterprises to apply advanced science and technology, creating great added value, contributing to improving productivity and competitiveness. On the contrary, projects scattered in residential areas and industrial parks are old and must be relocated to locations suitable for planning. This is both to reduce pressure on the environment and urbanization and to gradually form a green, modern industrial ecosystem, associated with the net zero goal, attracting high-quality capital from domestic and foreign investors.
With the cooperation between the government and enterprises, Dong Nai is gradually forming a green production ecosystem, both protecting the environment and promoting sustainable growth, realizing the net zero goal by 2050 and becoming an attractive destination for investors.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, by the end of July 2025, Dong Nai had 2,462 valid domestic investment projects with a registered capital of nearly 535 trillion VND; 2,199 valid FDI projects with a capital of 41.6 billion USD, and was one of the localities attracting the best investment in the country.
