Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just sent Official Dispatch No. 2576/UBND-KTN to the Ministry of Construction proposing to add a high-speed railway station on the North-South axis in Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province.

Specifically, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province proposed that the Ministry of Construction consider and approve the policy of assigning the Railway Project Management Board to coordinate with the consulting unit to study and add a passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province (Km1459) to the North-South high-speed railway project dossier.

This location is about 48 km from Long Thanh station, about 66 km from Muong Man station (Km1393, Lam Dong province), ensuring the distance to arrange 1 more station according to regulations (about 50 km).

The leader of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that the arrangement of a passenger station in this area will create conditions to promote the socio-economic development of Dong Nai province, improve the efficiency of investment in high-speed railway infrastructure in the coming period, and effectively exploit TOD in the station area.

It is known that the North-South high-speed railway project has been approved by the National Assembly in its investment policy in Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024.

According to the approved project documents, Dong Nai province is expected to arrange 1 passenger terminal at Long Thanh International Airport; 1 cargo terminal in Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district (now Trang Bom commune, Dong Nai province); 2 technical maintenance stations in Xuan Tam commune, Xuan Loc district (now Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province) and Cam Duong commune, Long Thanh district (now Xuan Duong commune, Dong Nai province).

Thus, the North-South high-speed railway route through Dong Nai province is 82 km long but only has 0 stations in Long Thanh international airport, while the room for TOD development in the province is very large.

Meanwhile, the eastern area of Dong Nai province, especially the communes of Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, Xuan Hoa, has not yet been arranged with a passenger station in the project planning, while this area has many advantages such as: strategic location connecting Dong Nai province with the South Central Coast provinces via National Highway 1A and Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway; potential for urban development, industrial parks, services - logistics and eco-tourism.

In addition, the proposed location for the additional railway station in Xuan Hoa commune has a large land fund, favorable terrain, high-tech infrastructure connectivity, suitable for arranging a large-scale passenger station, effectively exploiting TOD in the area.

The North-South high-speed railway project was approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15, with a total length of 1,541 km from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, with a design speed of 350 km/h.

The project includes 23 passenger stations and 5 cargo stations, using about 10,827 hectares of land; the preliminary total investment is 1,713,548 billion VND (about 67.34 billion USD).
