The First Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, for the term 2025-2030, determined that the strength of the great national unity is the foundation for successfully implementing the Resolution and making the city a growth engine in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
A pillar of social consensus
Over the past period, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations have continuously innovated their methods of operation, promoting their core political role in propaganda, mobilization, and creating social consensus. Movements such as "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods," and "Day for the Poor" have become the glue that binds communities together, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and government. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Fatherland Front served as a "pillar" in mobilizing hundreds of billions of dong and tens of thousands of tons of goods to support the people.
According to Comrade Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, without consensus, no policy can be implemented effectively. Experience shows that when the people trust and support, all difficulties can be overcome. The role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations is extremely important, as they are the bridge that brings resolutions closer to the people, fostering the spirit of "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit." Only in this way can we build a sustainably and inclusively developed Da Nang, where all citizens have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Social consensus can only be formed when the Party is truly closely connected with the people.
Comrade Doan Duy Tan, Head of the Organization Department of the Da Nang City Party Committee, emphasized that to consolidate national unity, it is essential to first build a clean and strong Party organization. “We must innovate our leadership methods, strengthen dialogue, listen to and promptly address the people's requests. Party members and officials must be exemplary in their words and actions so that the people trust and cooperate with them. When the people see a transparent and approachable government, consensus will naturally arise and become a source of strength,” Comrade Doan Duy Tan stated.
According to Comrade Doan Duy Tan, experience from many years shows that wherever cadres are closely involved with the grassroots, models and movements develop strongly. Therefore, in the next term, the City Party Committee will pay special attention to cadre work, considering it the key to building trust – the fundamental element of consensus.
United in overcoming difficulties
The reality in the Tây Giang highlands has proven this, where the close bond between the government and the people has become the driving force in overcoming difficulties.
Comrade Bhling Mia, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tay Giang commune, recounted that over the years, thanks to the city's attention and the people's unity, Tay Giang has undergone many changes. 100% of the villages have concrete roads, electricity grids, schools, and health stations. The festivals and traditional crafts of the Co Tu ethnic group are not only preserved but also linked to community tourism. The lives of the people have gradually improved, and the poverty rate has decreased significantly. Importantly, the people no longer have a dependent mentality, but actively participate, discuss, and contribute to the development of their homeland.
Comrade Bhling Mia emphasized that it was the spirit of "the people discuss, the people act" that helped Tay Giang overcome difficulties. When the government and the people are united, all targeted programs become tangible, not just slogans.
In its new phase, Da Nang is facing many challenges: restructuring its spatial layout after mergers, digital transformation, green development, and international integration… These tasks increasingly require the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the people.
As the congress documents define, the strength of unity must be realized through concrete models: youth taking the lead in entrepreneurship and volunteering for the community; innovative and green development businesses closely linked to the city; and the people directly participating in building the Party and government.
Consensus, therefore, is not just about agreement in thought, but about concrete actions by each citizen and each organization. And it is this consensus that will further empower Da Nang to successfully achieve its goal: becoming a major socio-economic center of Central Vietnam, a modern, civilized, and compassionate city.
