Agree with the policy of merging administrative units

People of Tien Cat ward learn about the project to merge administrative units.

Comrade Duong Hoang Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Viet Tri City Party Committee said: The merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units and the termination of district-level operations is not simply a matter of consolidating provincial and commune-level administrative units, but also an important step to streamline the apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, create room for development, maximize the potential and advantages of each locality, and promote rapid and sustainable socio -economic development.

According to the project to rearrange commune-level administrative units deployed by Viet Tri city to the grassroots level, Viet Tri will rearrange 20 administrative units to establish 5 new administrative units including: Viet Tri Ward, Thanh Mieu Ward, Nong Trang Ward, Van Phu Ward and Hy Cuong Commune (reducing 15 administrative units).

The formation of the new administrative unit is not divided by terrain, distance to the center is close; the economy, culture, and society have many similarities, favorable for the merger, in line with the development orientation. The city has also promoted information and propaganda work on the necessity, the plan to arrange the administrative units at the commune level and related contents to spread, create consensus and unity of the political system, especially the trust and support of the people. Wards and communes have deployed the distribution of ballots to collect opinions of voters representing households residing in the area with a serious spirit and high responsibility. At the cultural houses of residential areas, the list of voters representing households is publicly posted so that people can look up and follow; the ballots have been distributed directly to the people by the residential area cadres.

Mr. Ta Phu Tho in Lien Minh Area, Minh Phuong Ward expressed: “I completely agree and highly agree with the policy of the Party and State on merging administrative units at all levels, especially the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Viet Tri. This is consistent with the development trend of the country, with the situation at the grassroots level and in line with the aspirations of the people to create a streamlined, strong, efficient and effective administrative apparatus.

Mr. Pham Xuan Ky in Mai Son Area, Tien Cat said: The Party cell has disseminated policies, plans, and merger projects of the province and the city; raised people's responsibility in contributing to the construction and received consensus and response from the people. The naming of new administrative units after the merger of communes and wards also received great attention and high consensus from the people.

The selection of names for commune-level administrative units has been carefully and thoroughly researched by Viet Tri city, carefully considering traditional, historical and cultural factors. Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Party cell secretary, Head of Mai Son 2 area, Tien Cat ward expressed his agreement and highly appreciated the fact that all levels have quickly and promptly accepted the opinions and wishes of the people to unify the names of the new communes and wards after the arrangement of commune-level administrative units. For example, the name Viet Tri ward (after the arrangement of administrative units) is appropriate because Viet Tri city is currently a type I urban area under the province, the political, cultural, scientific and technological center of the province, and also the headquarters of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, departments and branches.

Listening to and soliciting people's opinions during the process of merging administrative units has received high consensus from the people, demonstrating their belief in the leadership of the Party and State to firmly bring the country into a new era. This is an important basis for Viet Tri to continue implementing the next steps in the process of arranging administrative units. People expect that the new development space will create momentum for the local socio-economic development and improve people's lives.
