This morning (September 12), the People's Committee of Lam Giang Commune, Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province requested VNR to arrange railway vehicles to transport relief goods from organizations and individuals to affected families in the area. Local authorities said that the impact of storm No. 3 has caused roads in the area to be cut off, at this time to move to Lam Giang Commune, one must walk along the railway line.
After receiving the request from Lam Giang commune authorities, the railway immediately mobilized the nearest vehicle from Lang Khay - Lam Giang to Trai Hut to transport goods to Lam Giang. The mobilized wagons were ore trucks from the nearby railway section. By 3:00 p.m., the train had transported 2.5 tons of essential goods to Lam Giang station to hand over to the locality to support people in the storm and flood areas.
It is expected that this afternoon (September 12), VNR will receive dozens of tons of goods from people in the Southern region: Saigon, Nha Trang... to transport to the North.
